"Honey hurry up! We'll be late!" Came a loving yet slightly irritated voice from the kitchen.
"Coming mum!" Yelled James Potter from his room. He was ecstatic - he was finally starting at Hogwarts! His parents had told him many stories of the place. Happy and sad, how they met, the houses , the food , the lessons - everything! He was supposed too have studied last night, if course he had not though.

Speaking of last night, he was still tired. He had not slept at all! He was so excited he simply hadn't slept a wink. He could of used that time wisely, and , again he had not. What was the point in 'studying' he hadn't even started the school yet and his mum was already hanging on about what grades he would get and how he would excel if he had started his leading early. Mrs Potters was a lovely woman but could really be a pain in the back-side sometimes.

Anyways, James hurriedly packed the last of his things, grabbed a slice of toast from the table and ran out the door - suitcase practically flying behind him.

Once he had finally got into the car and he had buckled his seatbelt his looked at his hands, he was physically shaking with excitement! He could of almost laughed at himself as he looked out of the window at the trees they were zooming past. He could not wait.

"How are you feeling honey," Mrs Potter said from the passenger seat in front of him.
"Oh mum! I'm so excited I literally can't wait to make friends, it's going to be awesome I know it!" He mused form the back.
She laughed at him, "what house do you want to be in?"
"GRYFFINDOR!" James and his father yelled in unison.

It wasn't a long drive to Kings Cross Station, not with Mr Potter's speed charms on the car anyways. It was not long before they were pulling up to the car park next to the station. The three hopped out of the car and made there way to platform 9 and 3/4.

When they reached the gate, James finally realised how nervous he actually was. "Mum..i'm scared," he mumbled.
"Oh sweetie I know it may seem scary, but this could be the making of you," She pulled him in it a motherly hug and missed him on the head, leading him through the barrier. And when he crossed over, he was utterly mesmerized. There, right in front of him was good and maroon steaming train. On it read 'Hogwarts Express'.

"Okay mum! You can leave now!" He said too excited to even care about his old life at home now.
"Okay, okay just...come here my love," Mrs Potter said. Her and her husband, Mr Potter, crouched down so they were level with James.
"Me and your mother, love you very much, and just remember...no matter what happens today, we will always love you, " Mr Potter said.

You see, the Potters were a family of Gryffindors and Ravenclaws, so this meant a lot to James - knowing he would be accepted even if he broke tradition.
"I know," he smiled, "see you christmas!"

And he began his way to the train.

"SIRIUS BLACK GET DOWN HERE THIS INSTANT YOU WILL MAKE IS LATE!" A voice came ringing upstairs.

"I'm coming, i'm coming!" Yelled Sirius laughing a little and closing up his suitcase. He couldn't wait to get out of this house and to Hogwarts. He loved his family, he did, but he feared one thing. Not getting into Slytherin. If he got into any other house, God forbid Gryffindor, God knows what would happen. But the thing was, Sirius was Black was NOT like his parents. He didn't think muggle borns and half bloods were unequal to them. Not did he think Gryffindor was a bad house, being gay was a sin or that all people of colour were to be slaves. No, Sirius Black was defiantly NOT like his parents.

Him and his family swiftly made there way to the family car and got in. Like James, it wasn't a long drive to Kings Cross either. Within the hour they had made it to the platform already. The Blacks were quite the swift, stern family. And Sirius hated it.
