All of the four boys groaned when they really the Hogwarts express come to a halt. it was time to go home. They had all dreaded this moment for weeks. Leaving each other. For an entire month! It wasn't fair..

"Come on guys," Remus smiled weakly. He knew how much his friend's christmases would suck. He was so happy the Evans' decided to take him in this year. Like most years really.

They all huffed and reached up to grab their trunks. All full and ready to go.

"Guys I'm going to have to go and find Lily now...I'll see you all soon? Remember to owl?" Remus asked.

" Of course Remus, " James smiled sadly.

"Ok come on guys! We can do better than this! Look, we may not be in the best situations but let's try and make the most of no SCHOOL of SNAPE alright?" Remus said.
" Remus is right! We should be happy! " Peter grinned.

"Thanks Pete," Remus smiled in gratitude.

" I'll get to see my brother again! " Sirius said.
"That's the spirit!" Remus grinned and waved to them all before disappearing into another compartment to help Lily with her trunk.

"Rem!" Lily squealed, having forgotten her " awkward" state.
"Hiya Lils...severus" His voice trailed off. She huffed, rolling her eyes affectionately and handed Remus her trunk, which he was holding his arms out for.

Severus made a quick goodbye to Lily (and Lily alone) before swiftly walking off the train and to a short, pale, sick looking woman standing in a black cloak, shaking in the corner of the platform.

The pair grinned and stepped off the train, easily spotting the Evans, waving and smiling broadly. They looked at each other, rolling their eyes, again.

"Oh how we missed you both!" Mrs Evans smiled and brang them both in for a long hug. " And especially you Remus, " Mr Evans winked at the boy, he truly adored him - thought of him as the son he never had.

"Alright, let's go home!" Mrs Evans, Rose, rubbed her hands together excitedly.
Mr Evans, Tom, sighed and laughed at his wife's antics.

The four walked to their car happily.

***

Remus always loved Rose and Tom's car. It was small and yellow, with a white bonnet. Inside, the seats were made out of brown, smooth leather. The seats were also very comfy.

Tom packed each of their trunks into the boot of the car, Rose sat next to the drivers seat, Lily and Remus fitting neatly in the back.

"We've missed having you round us Remus," Mrs Evans smiled, looking at him through the mirror in  front of her.

He blushed pink and looked down into his hands, even after knowing Lily and her family for nine years - he still wasn't use to parental affection and usually got very shy around them whenever they praised him or complimented him.

"I've missed you guys too," He smiled shyly and everyone in the car laughed.

" How's mum and dad? " Tom asked, a little hesitant.
"The usual...not much," He smiled sadly.
Rose's eye began to twitch a little in anger, "well atleast your away from them now...remember you'll always have us Remus," She turned around in concern at his quietness. " Anything you want to say? "

"It's just my friend....Sirius....his parents...they're worse than mine...He thinks what they do is normal and he got sorted into Gryffindor and basically disobeyed everything they had said....I'm so scared for him," He sighed.

" I am sure....he will be fine, " Rose lied. She turned around, a frown now on her face. God bless him.

The rest of the car ride was spent talking about little things; what they wanted on the Christmas tree, what was for dinner, how school was and casual things. Remus was still a little tense yet comforted by Rose's words.

When they got home, Lily quickly rushed Remus to her room, to show him where he would be sleeping. Recently, they had began re-doing Remus' room across the hall, repainting the walls a nice creme colour to match the theme of his room and adding some plants, putting up his paintings and more.

He really was a little artist.

So, he would be spending the majority of the holiday sharing Lily's bed, which they had done many times before whilst they were younger.

Remus wasn't nervous himself but he knew Lily would probably get a little nervous, with "everything that had happened".

He really didn't see why she was so nervous. He was completely ok with it. Plus, they were eleven for merlins sake, it's not like the possible relationship would last and mean more than a childish crush in the future.

Remus was smart and nature for his ages he knew this.

" Guys! Dinner is ready! " Rose called from the kitchen two hours later as a pleasant smell began to fill the house, pie.

Remus LOVED Rose's pie - she must have known this. The pair smiled at each other, putting what they were holding to go and meet her in the kitchen.

"Hi mum!" Remus said cheerfully , sitting down opposite from Lilly at the table, this has become a habit - calling Rose mum - since they were 6.

Remus understood by then his parents would never love him anymore. Now he was a monster.

But Rose,Tom and Lily didn't think like that. And he loved them so so much for it. Here, he felt loved and valued. It was a beautiful, warming feeling.

He just hoped,prayed...soon...Sirius would feel the same.

At home.
