"someone got hold of one of our phones but for some reason, they didn't spread any of our important files around...instead a picture of you and hyejin" he brought up a tab from his computer that showed lines and lines of code, then multiple copies of the photo of the two "i managed to get into starships system and as expected, the photo of hyejin had been thoroughly investigated"
"how did they get into our phones though? all of our phones have a security wall app installed and is monitored 24/7 so it's almost impossible for them to get on our phones." ten leant back on his chair
"i remember. hyejin left her phone on the van the other day and winwin was helping her get it. he found it in between the car seat so if it had slipped out, it would have been on hyejin's or my seat...not the seat behind us" chenle was anxious, but his voice was still gliding on one tone
"so what your telling me is that they managed to get hyejins phone...that explains why they didn't find any important files" everyones heads piled with scenes that could happen in the future, and none of them are good
"which means starship and cube tracked down our number plate. but why would they go for a girl that isn't even part of our gang?" jisung ran a hand through his hair out of confusion
"hyejin...she was the one who got the case. that makes sense, meaning the guy who tried to steal the case from her is still alive" ten furrowed his eyebrows
"...and he knows her face" jisung ended
the three of them looked at each other, jisung and ten having wide eyes as chenle just stared emotionlessly, realisation dawning on them
(i'm trying to stress the fact that chenle can't portray emotions because i don't think i did that quite well in the previous chapter so uhm yeh)
"they're going for hyejin"

a whole week had passed and hyejin was still not aware of what was happening, but she was beginning to get suspicious when chenle being constantly stuck to her side, jisung glancing at her every so often while they were in the warehouse and ten asking her whether or not she's seen something weird.
"ten for gods sake, no! i havent!" she flung her hand up in the air when she swivelled her chair around to see ten approaching her.
"you guys have been incredibly weird ever since i fell asleep on chenles office. something is 100% going on" she eyed the 3 boys who gulped, refusing to tell her. they decided against telling her as they wanted her to focus on the key cards as well as the case and not freak her out; she was still considered an outsider and a newbie.
