she leant against the petrol station counter as she counted the time she had left until her shift was over.
"60 59 58 57 56 55 54 53 52..." joo hyejin put down another finger on her hand. she was anticipating this night; the night where she was able to go back to China to visit her parents. she was 18 and had just taken her CSAT to get to university, so therefore she had nothing else to do except wait for the results...that's not coming out until a few months later
if she had a good results, she was planning to take law as command of her mum. as much as she wanted to do engineering, law was just something that brought pride to her family
"study well in the present and you'll get a good future. but you need to study the right thing to get a right future"
she would say, and hyejin has no other words but to comply to her wishes
a few more minutes ticked by as she was getting more and more jittery as the time passed, well until a car pulled up to the station
"you're kidding me" hyejin groaned, placing her phone down and shuffling over to the car. she expected him to roll down the window or get out of the car to tell her which petrol he needed but he simply did the latter.
