A LITTLE LATER at STAR Labs, Barry handed Caitlin, Cisco and Dr. Wells gifts, saying, "Merry Christmas. Just a small token of my gratitude..." "Aw." Dr. Wells let out as he was handed a gift. "...For everything you guys have done for me this year." Barry finished.

"I think I speak on behalf of my colleagues when I say you've been a gift for us, Barry." Dr. Wells told Barry with a smile.

"What's that?" Caitlin asked with a smile to Barry, signaling to the thermo he held in his hands.

"This is compliments of Iris- Grandma Esthers Famous Eggnog."

"That's what I'm talking about." Cisco told Barry as he pointed to the thermo.

"You'll all love it!" Chloe grinned at them.

"Maybe later for me. Wouldn't want to drink and drive." Dr. Wells joked with slight humor, wheeling away.

"Did I say something wrong?" Barry whispered.

"Not at all-" Chloe told him. "No." Caitlin shook her head as Cisco told him, "No, man... He, um- This time used to be his favorite time of year, but the accident happened before Christmas, so... Kind of ruined the holidays." Cisco finished.

"I'm gonna go get him a present. Maybe that'll cheer him up." Caitlin turned back to Barry, "Thank you very much."

"Yeah." Barry nodded.

"Before you go, Cait. It's the thought that counts but the last time I tried to give Dr. Wells a gift he was appreciative but he didn't seem cheered up." Chloe told her friend a sad smile on her face. Caitlin just nodded as she walked away.

"So what are you doing for Christmas, Cisco?" Barry asked after Caitlin left. Chloe would have listened but she already knew Barry was going to try and invite him to Joe's Christmas thing he hosted for the family.

The woman opened her phone, being wary of the men talking a few feet away from her as she texted her criminal boyfriend, who both men didn't like one bit.

Chloe: Hey, Lenny, you're still coming over tonight right? I have a surprise for you!

He answered after a couple of minutes.

Lenny: Yeah, I still am baby. And what surprise? You're not going to try and scare me again? That didn't go very well last time, Princess.

Chloe laughed quietly at that, knowing the man was probably chucking at how she tried to scare him a while ago, as she replied, looking over to see Barry and Cisco still talking.

Chloe: Of course not, Lenny. But I'm making you try some eggnog, and if you don't love it, I'm not getting you a gift >:(

Chloe waited a few seconds before getting a reply, her smiling at the message.

Lenny: I'm sure I'll love it, Chlo, and if I don't then you are obliged not to get me a gift.

Chloe grinned at that.

Chloe: Well you better enjoy it or I'm not going to get you a gift or kisses :p

Lenny: Well the kisses part is just rude, Princess.. Besides, you can't live without them.

Chloe smiled at that, imagining that her boyfriend was smirking at the last part.

Chloe: Damnit... You know me too well, Lenny :( But I'll see you later tonight! ❤️

Lenny: I have to go either way, I'll see you later Princess. <3

Chloe let out yet another grin as she turned off her phone and slid it back into her pocket.

"Who were you texting? You're smiling an awful lot." Barry pointed out as he looked over to his older sister.

"Just a friend." She shrugged him off, smiling to Barry.

"You only smile like that when you're texting someone special, or family, I saw it when you went to college and got that one boyfriend- Speaking of him what ever happened with that?" Barry asked, oblivious to the fact that that boyfriend wasn't what he had seemed at all.

"I don't know..." She knew exactly what happened to him - a car accident, the man was dead - she just kept up the lie she had started all those years ago about him, "We didn't keep in touch after we broke up-" Really it was because he was an abusive piece of shit and that he was dead, "But I'm really not texting anyone special." She tried to tell him, changing the subject, blocking out the horrid memories.

"Okay..." Barry answered, though he didn't seem so sure. Chloe just sent him a tight lipped smile, she couldn't get caught, not this early into her and Leonard's relationship.
