(The doctor is in a harness seat in the space underneath the Tardis console ,doing some welding work. Amy is pacing nervously above. Bella is just learning against the bars of the Tardis.)

"Oh! The life out there, it dazzles. I mean, it blinds you to the things that are important. I've seen it devour relationships and plans..." the Doctor begins to announce

(Rory is looking down nervously and the Tardis experiences a small explosion)

"Ohhh! It's meant to do that." The doctor Calls up to everyone.

"Bull-" Bella begins to hiss when the doctor starts to talk again.

".....because for one person to have seen all that, to taste the glory and then go back, it WILL tear you apart. So...I'm sending you somewhere. Together." The doctor announces and Bella pouts.

"Whoa! What, like a date?" Amy questions.

"No... no way am I gonna be a third wheel..." Bella pouts.

"You'll have me, Bells. Anyway. Amy. Rory. Anywhere you want, any time you want." The doctor exclaims cheerfully.

(He walks up the steps to join them at the console)

"One condition - it has to be amazing. The Moulin Rouge in 1890! The first Olympic Games! Think of it as a wedding present, because, frankly, it's either this or tokens." The doctor calls out.

"It's a lot to take in, isn't it?" Bella questions Rory- he has a stunned expression on his face.

(The doctor heads up a set of stairs)

"Tiny box, huge room inside. What's that all about?" Bella then states wide eyed.

"HEY! Pond. I like doing this part! Let me explain." The doctor tells bella from upstairs.

"It's another dimension..." Rory just stutters.

(The doctor heads back down stairs)

"It's basically another dimen... What?" The doctor stammers.

"Bravo." Bella exclaims with a clap.

"After Prisoner Zero, I've been reading up on all the latest scientific theories; FTL travel, parallel universes." Rory shrugs.

"Awww your own little nerd!" Bella teases Amy by stating.

"Watch it..." Amy hisses at Bella who giggles.

"No! Cmon! I like the bit when someone says, "It's bigger on the inside!" I always look forward to that." The doctor yells.

"So, this date. I'm kind of done with running down corridors. What do you think, Rory?" Amy quickly speaks up and says.

"How about somewhere... romantic?" The doctor asks with a smile.

"Ugh this sucks." Bella pouts angrily.

(The doctor sets the TARDIS in motion)

(VENICE, DAY, MARKETPLACE)

***The Tardis materialises in the middle of a busy market and no one takes any notice. The doctor is the first to exit.***

"Venice! Venezia! La Serenissima! Impossible city. Preposterous city!" The doctor exclaims happily.

(Rory and Amy look about in amazement. Bella is leaning against the Tardis)

"Founded by refugees running from Attila the Hun. It was just a collection of little wooden huts in the marsh, but became one of the most powerful cities in the world. Constantly being invaded, constantly flooding... constantly... Just beautiful! Oh, you gotta love Venice. And so many people did. Byron, Napoleon, Casanova. Oooh, that reminds me. 1580. That's all right. Casanova doesn't get born for 145 years. Don't want to run into him. I owe him a chicken." The doctor then explains to everyone.
