I reached into the wardrobe and pulled out a large black shoulder bag, I quickly stuffed it with fresh underwear and enough clothes to last me a few days. I placed it down on the bed whilst I got my wash bag from the bathroom, which had most of its contents scattered around the bathroom.

Hastily I put my toothbrush, toothpaste, shower gel and a half-empty bottle of moisturiser into it, knowing that was all I would need for a couple of days.

Not forgetting to pick up my makeup bag from the dresser as I walked back over to the bed where my bag of clothes was lying. Throwing in the two smaller, colourful bags, I quickly looked around the room to check I had everything.

I did, so I quickly zipped up the bag when I heard Avery's voice come around the corner, "I'm so sorry Ro, are you okay?"

Her eyes roamed from my bloodshot eyes to my tear-stained face and then down to the bag I was clutching.

"Please tell me you're not leaving!" Avery gasped as she hurtled towards me and snatched the bag from out of my hands. "You can't leave because of them!"

"I need to..." I muttered and my eyes brimmed with tears once again.

"They're arseholes and I'm so pissed at the both of them right now but don't leave."

"This is all my fault, they're best friends and I've made them fight," I wept.

"No," Avery corrected and threw my bag back down onto the bed, "they chose to fight, they chose to overreact and they chose to act like cavemen before even thinking of speaking with each other."

"I always knew leaving here would have been best and I knew I should have done it," the tears flowed down my face now and my gaze was directed towards the ground. "I have to step back from both of them..."

"Please don't go," Avery threw her arms around me and clutched my back like her life depended on it. I heard quiet sobs emanate from her as I placed my own arms around her frame.

"Aidan will be devastated... and so will I. I love you as though you are my own flesh and blood sister."

Avery knew how to play at my heartstrings, she really did. "I love you too, Avs. You have the kindest heart with the fiercest personality but I'll only be gone for a couple of days."

"What?" She screamed in my ear before she pulled away and grabbed onto my shoulders as though she was ready to shake me to death.

"I thought I would go stay with your mum or something," I clarified.

"Here's me thinking you were packing up and leaving for good!" Avery planted her hands on her hips and pursed her lips. "I thought you were going to leave us behind and get as far away as possible but no..." Avery began to laugh.

"You're not..." she said breathlessly, "you're... you're..."

My gaze was fixated on Avery, I tried to watch her laugh through my own teary eyes. I noticed the way she bent forward slightly, the way she wrapped her arms around her waist and her mouth opened to release a cute little snort.

Before I knew it her infectious laughter had taken a hold of me and I was laughing along with her. My tears of downheartedness had been replaced with weeps of hysteria. I didn't know why I was laughing, I only knew it was relieving the tension.

"Why... why are we laughing so much?" I howled.

"Because... you're staying with my mum."

"Why is that so funny?" I inquired through my small pants as I tried to catch my breath.
