Luckily we caught no cases, so Teresa was able to leave on time.

"Don't you dare forget!" I called from my spot on the couch as she boarded the elevator, her cheeks flushing bright red.

"Forget what?" Fischer asked.

"I'm taking Teresa to dinner tonight." I explained, a grin forming on my face.

"It's about time." She remarked sarcastically, "Everyone knows she's crazy about you."

"Oh is she?" I asked quizzically, taken aback by Kim's revelation.

"You mean the amazing Patrick Jane didn't know he had an admirer?" She teased.

"No idea." I replied and drifted into my own world, searching through my memory palace.

Nope, not an inkling of emotion from Lisbon, but on the other hand I was crazy about her. I really hoped she didn't know that. Nearly half-an-hour later I glanced at my watch to see that it was 5:30. I said goodnight to Cho, Kim, and Wylie before riding the elvator down to the main floor and exiting the building to find my car. I dialed Lisbon's number as I unlocked the door, waiting to hear her pick up.

"Hey," I greeted when I heard the phone pick up, "almost ready?" She could probably hear the smile in my voice.

"Almost." She sighed, "I hope you're happy."

"Believe me, I am." I chuckled, "I'll see you soon sweetheart." I said and quickly hung up, hoping she wouldn't realize my slip-up.

On the way to Lisbon's house I stopped at a florist and picked up three white roses. No, they are not her favorite flower but I knew that she would find them particularly stunning anyways. God, I hoped tonight went well. I pulled up to her house, got out of the car, and knocked on the door.

"Prince Charming has arrived." I called. Okay, maybe I was taking this too far for an 'accidental' date.

Moments later, Teresa answered the door.

"Wow." I said, trying to regain my breath and steady my heartbeat, "you look incredible."

"Thanks." She blushed and toyed with a piece of the navy blue fabric.

Her hair was down, except for a small strand that was braided and clipped behind her ear. Her dress was strapless, and went all the way down to her ankles. When I looked into her eyes again, her necklace caught my eye. It was silver with an emerald in the center. It was the one I had gotten her for Christmas that she had had me return. I laughed a little.

"What's so funny?" She asked, her cheeks still bright red.

"Your necklace. You bought it back from the jeweler didn't you? After I returned it?"

"Oh this?" She rubbed it between her thumb and forefinger, "Yeah." She admitted sheepishly, her face turning an even darker shade of red, "it is gorgeous."

"That's why I picked it." I said, placing my hand on her cheek, feeling both the warmth and softness of her skin, "it is both beautiful and breath taking, just like you."

I gently kissed her cheek and felt her body tense before relaxing again. It was okay. She wanted this too.

"Please, follow me to your chariot." I placed my hand around her waist and we walked down the stairs to my car.
