Summary: Jane and Lisbon go on a date; words are spoken and plans go awry. Very dialogue heavy. JISBON KISS MAYBE? Read to find out!

'Tonight could be amazing.' I thought to myself, 'Finally on a date with Patrick Jane, I've only waited ten years for this.'

"For you, my dear." He said and handed me a beautiful white rose.

"You can't tell me you bought this two months ago." I teased.

"Of course not, that was hand-picked for you."

"It's gorgeous." I said and sat down in the car. How could I get so awestruck over a flower?

"I thought you'd like it." He said and grinned that stupid grin of his.

"I heard what you called me on the phone," I began as he started to back the car out of the driveway, "you know we're co-workers, we can't be more than that." I fought the voice in my head that wanted to tell him how I really felt.

"I didn't mean to call you that." he said and pressed the brakes on his car, stopping it at the end of the driveway.

"You know, I can tell when you're lying." I lied. Maybe it was the fact that we were going on a date but I really wanted to kiss him.

"You don't know I'm lying." He argued, "And stop thinking so loud."

"You don't know what I'm thinking." I argued before looking at him. He was staring at my lips. Oh God.

"Don't I?" He leaned over and kissed me.

My entire body tingled with excitement. I kissed him back as our mouths explored each other's. he tasted of his earl grey tea, which I actually found attractive. He was perfect. He was smart, funny, attractive, and he always knew how to make me feel better. He always knew what I was feeling and what I wanted.

"Jane." I gently but his lip as I pulled away, "we can't."

"We can." He kissed me harder this time. It was so hard to break a second kiss.

I placed my hand on his cheek and gently rubbed his soft face with my thumb.

"There are rules Jane, you know that."

He looked into my eyes, "When have rules ever stopped me?" He smiled. I felt my heart start to beat a little faster. He did have a point.

"You know we can both lose our jobs for this." My voice shook, I love my job.

"No one has to find out." Jane tried.

"We work with some of the best investigators in the United States, they'll figure it out sooner or later." I wished I was wrong, "And what about those reservations?" I teased.

"Ah yes." Jane said awkwardly and the car started off again.
