A/N: Hey guys! So I had the first 14 chapters of this story written out and I decided I'd just wing it instead and see what happens. I'm also working on the next chapter of my Christmas fic so make sure to read, vote, and review!

Summary: Abbot talks to Lisbon

~*~

"Please, take a seat." Abbott said and I pulled a chair away from his desk for Teresa.

"Thanks." She said quietly.

"As I am sure you have been informed, your brother Tommy has gone missing." Abbott deadpanned.

Lisbon absentmindedly toyed with a loose thread on her chair, a nervous tick I had never noticed before.

"The call from your the kidnappers has been traced to an abandoned warehouse in Dallas."

"Not kidnappers," she said, her face emotionless, "Red John."

"That's impossible." Abbott said, shock drawn on his face, "Are you sure?"

"I know his voice Dennis. He kidnapped me for God's sake, I think I know his voice." She was no longer hiding the irritation in her voice.

"Did he say anything to you?" Abbott interrogated.

"Tyger, tyger." She managed to whisper.

I placed my hand on top of hers in an attempt to comfort her. She didn't attempt to reject the action.

"Now what's the warehouse address? Did officers check what hotel he was staying at? He was in town on a job. Is there any sign of Annie?" Her words were rushed and compact.

"Lisbon you are too close to this case. I cannot let you go to that warehouse incase something bad has happened. I can't have you running off revenge." He directed his glare at me.

"Where is Annie?" She persisted.

"At school." He said, "And until Tommy is found, you are to act as her legal guardian. She traveled with your brother and is at the local high school."

Teresa looked at me. She was afraid of children, afraid she would become her father. I was afraid of children, afraid I would become my old, dark self. But I had to help her.

"I... I should go get her?" She asked.

"I would recommend it. I'm putting you on administrative leave until this case is solved. And take Jane with you."
