A/N: Sorry it's taken me so long to update! It's been busy cause of the holidays and I had writer's block. Enough excuses! Next chapter! This kind of seems like an AU right now sorry.

I was glad to be back with her. Ecstatic really. She was angry, but kept it bottled up as always. I'd have to talk to her about that later. I didn't have to leave and I knew that. I felt like I had to to protect her. The truth of it is that she never cared how much danger she was in, she cared about having me around, and she said she loved me. I couldn't talk to her about that right now though, there was too much going on.

"Annie toss me that bag."

"Here... Mom." She paused, this was weird for her too.

"Cara let me take that." I urged, it was the last bag and I was too busy daydreaming to help.

"No, Jane I got it." She really was bad at using our names.

"Thanks honey." I walked past her and placed a kiss to her cheek as I went to unlock the door. Her face blushed a bright red and I grinned. She had no idea how interesting this could be.

"Hold the door for me, dear." She called from behind me, playing along... I might've been enjoying it.

"There you go." I smiled as she carried the large bag through the door and threw it on the floor with the others.

"Annie come here!" Annie (Sarah) came out from the hallway, she had been looking for the bedrooms.

"Hey... Mom... There's only two bedrooms."

"Oh."She looked at me and blushed again, "We'll make it work."

"Oohh I'm sure you will." Annie teased, grabbing her bag and running off, "I call the blue room!"

"We are engaged." I teased, tapping her shoulder as I walked past with my bag, "We should be sleeping together."

"Oh hush!" She yelled back, embarrased again.

It was around 8:00 that night before the three of us got all of our things settled in. The room Teresa and I were using was painted a deep purple, with a large bed and one wall made completely of mirrors. A master bathroom connected to our bedroom, complete with both a claw foot tub and shower. Oh Dennis, why do you do this to me?

I walked out into the kitchen to see Lisbon cooking something, her earbuds plugged in, spinning around, spoon in hand, dancing. She was beautiful, always is, but to see her getting lost in the moment and enjoying herself were things I wasn't used to seeing. I laughed when a piece of potato flew off of her spoon and landed on my lapel.

"Uh... oh... Jane. Hey." She flushed red and turned away from me, "How much of that did you see?"

"Enough to fall more in love with you." I walked over and placed my hands on her hips and she carefully picked the piece of potato from my lapel.

"I don't know if this is the right time." She replied, biting her already scabby lip, "With all of this. And I thought you wanted to give me space. To keep Red John away."

"This is the safest we're gonna get." I smile and she placed her arms around my neck, continuing to bite her lip.

"I'm sorry for what happened at work today. I just lost it."

"Don't be sorry. You were right. I was a selfish asshole for leaving you. Leaving didn't prove I love you, but I'll do anything to prove it to you."

She looked down for a second before looking back at me, our eyes catching one another, the blues and greens swirling together like the lake in the summertime.

"Kiss me." She released her lip from her teeth and let out a tiny smile.

"If you say so."

I smiled and leaned down, pulling her closer to me, catching her lips with mine. She used my neck as leverage and pulled herself up on her tip-toes to kiss me better. We explored each others mouths like we had that night so many weeks ago. I broke the kiss and we both gasped for air.

"I love you Teresa." I whispered into her mouth, "I love you."

She reached up and pressed her forehead against mine, "I love you too Patrick. Don't you ever forget that."

"I won't." I reply with a grin and kiss the bridge of her nose, "Don't you forget either."
