"It's okay." I heard her whisper into my ear as I felt the warmth of her body. I gasped for air in between sobs. I had never told anyone about the scars my father left. I had never told anyone about Red John.

When Teresa and I first met, I knew it was the beginning of something great. We are and were compatible in so many ways and I told myself I would be strong for her, maybe even because of her, yet here I was cradled in her arms.

"Shhh Patrick, it's okay." She whispered angelically. She began to sway back and forth, rocking me like an infant.

I coughed a few times before trying to speak.

"Thankk yyyou." My voice shook.

"No, I'm sorry." She returned, "I woke up in a strange place practically naked and I just panicked."

It was then that I realized my hand was resting on her bare stomach and my head was across her perfectly shaped chest.

"I didn't mean to frighten you." I explained truthfully, "After last night at the diner you fell asleep so I brought you back here. I undressed you because I didn't want to see that magnificent dress get wrinkled."

"So we... didn't then?" Her voice danced around the word.

"No." I replied, "I wouldn't have taken advantage of you like that."

"Thank God," she said to no one in particular, "then I really would have to shoot you."

"Well then it's good we didn't because I wouldn't be alive to see your beautiful face every day." She blushed a bright shade of red and I leaned up and kissed the underside of her chin.

She just placed her head on top of mine and I felt her breathing in the scent of my hair. Although the circumstances that brought us here weren't the best, I knew this was a moment we would both cherish.

"I'm going to get dressed." I stated and began unraveling myself from her, even though I didn't want to.

"What about me? I can't wear this all day."

"I don't mind if you don't mind." I teased and she playfully slapped my chest.

"I stopped by your place last night and picked up some things for you. Everything's in the bathroom."

"So you couldn't take me home but you could go and pick up my clothes? You are officially the most illogical man on earth."

"Thank you." I winked and jogged up the stairs towards the bedroom.

Now the truly difficult task of the day: What to wear to impress Teresa.
