I was with Officer Brody. My parents... They'd died in the accident. They were thrown... I only had some scratches and bruises, but... They were so frail...

Zach hugged me, and I went over to my Eric, who embraced me. I buried my head in his chest, and he kissed me forehead. Zach ran to his room.

"So, where you gonna live?"

---

A week later, Emma moved in. Eric was oddly quiet, and I had texted Shelly telling her the news. She was busy on vacation in Africa, for a mission trip.

"You ok?"

"Eric?" I looked up to see my older brother.

"Sh... Emma's asleep. I needed to tell you... Shelly sent for you," he said, giving me a package.

I opened it. Some African money, a giraffe stuffed animal, and a card was in the box. I opened the card. It read:

Dear Zachypoo,

I've been riding elephants,
And teaching the word,
But all I've been thinking about,
Is you.

I miss you Zach, and I send you my love.

Love,
Shelly Belly

I ran my index finger over her pet name I'd've given her. She wrote it in her best handwriting: cursive. I had begun to recognize the writing. She sent me notes everyday in class, and love notes in my locker.

I put the package up, and sighed. I texted her thanks, and then fell asleep as I dreamt pan out Shelly and I, growing old together.

I opened my eyes to find myself in my new room, with blue walls and white carpet. I scanned the room. An oak dresser and desk sat on either side of the room, and a huge window was in the room, above a small table, with a pink flower in a vase, and a card. I opened it, and it read:

My Love,

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy...

That's our story, and it'll always be...

I love you, baby, and you, I shall hope, love me. Please be with me, my dear.

Will you be mine, forever?

Love always,
Eric

A ring was beside the card. I teared up, and I covered my mouth, trying to restrain hopping up into the air and screaming. I looked to the door, and I saw Eric.

"So?" He asked, his arms held out. I threw the card down and hugged him, he kissed me and slipped on the engagement ring.
