Mae and Jiren were standing in the living room. They seemed to be having a discussion about something. "So you done throwing a fit?" Mae asked as Niko entered the room. Jiren shot her a look.
Niko blushed and scratched his head in embarrassment. "Yeah. Vegeta talked to me and... I'm better now. I'm sorry!"
"So are you ready to handle this?" Jiren asked looking Niko up and down. He seemed surprised that the boy arrived in one piece considering Vegeta was the one who talked to him.
Niko shrugged. "I think so."
"What did Vegeta say to you?" Mae asked. She had a feeling she knew the answer she just wanted to hear it from Niko.
"Well, first, he called me a coward, so that didn't feel good," Niko pouted. "But then he told me that us saiyans don't run away from problems. And he's right. So that means my mom is right, too..."
"And are you okay with that?" Mae raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know yet," Niko admitted. "But I don't wanna be mad or angry at someone who hasn't done anything wrong. That's not cool."
"That's a good start," Jiren nodded.
"Thanks," Niko said, appreciating the encouragement. "I had to cry and think a lot all day, so, are we finally done for today?"
"Yes, on that note, we can continue training tomorrow," Mae smiled at him. She would need to thank Vegeta later.
"Really?" Niko's eyes widened. "But I was being so mean and disrespectful... I'm surprised you didn't ground me or something."
"Ground you?" Mae laughed. "Nah."
"We aren't upset with you for yelling at us," Jiren said. "We were concerned about your mentality."
"Oh," Niko replied, still taken aback. "U-Um, that's cool. Heh, thanks..." He smiled at them, still blushing.
"You aren't the first person to yell at me," Mae said patting his head.
"But I'm a kid, and you're an adult," Niko explained. "That's like, rude."
"So what," Mae shrugged. "Just because you are a kid doesn't mean you have to keep your feelings bottled up just to remain respectful. Besides we have a different relationship. I'm not your parent and neither is Jiren."
Niko just let it go and nodded. "Okay, cool. Sorry, Miss Teacher," he smiled.
"That's a bit much," Mae laughed.
"Niko, never feel afraid to come to us for things that are upsetting you," Jiren said. "My Master did the same for me when I was younger."
"Yeah Vegeta was the same for me," Mae sighed. "Although I wouldn't call him my master exactly."
Niko became serious and nodded. "O-Okay. I'll try to be better," he replied.
"Good," Jiren gave him a short nod.
"You must be tired," Mae said. "Why don't you go on to bed."
"Yeah, okay," Niko agreed, feeling the tiredness creep up on him. "It's been a long day. Good night, guys." He gave a small wave and went to bed.
"Good night," Mae and Jiren said together.
"Will you train me?" Mae asked.
"Yes but only for a little bit," Jiren nodded. After they trained for a few hours both of them went to sleep as well.
Sometime in the middle of the night Mae, Jiren, and Niko were all awoken by a loud crash outside the house. Panicked, Niko slipped on a shirt, grabbed Monma's device, and raced outside to see what the commotion was about.
