Reaching for Happiness

Chapter 9

The week seemed to drag by slowly. I hadn't seen Aston all week. We'd had a few phone calls, but that was all. I was so excited when Saturday arrived. I had a normal day at work, which also dragged. I rushed home from work at six and jumped in the shower. I got out, got dressed, did my hair and makeup, and I was ready. I sat waiting for my first guests to arrive. Marvin and Aston were staying over, since they'd let me stay at their's when they had a party, and this way they didn't have to get a taxi home or forfeit one of them drinking.

At 8:15pm, there was a knock at my door. I opened the door to find Hannah, Nikki and Faye.

'Hey!' I greeted them.

'Hi!' they replied in unison. 

'Come in, come in!' We walked through to the kitchen and I gave them all something to drink.

'So, who else is coming to this party other than us three, Jake and Joe?' Faye asked me.

'Well, there's some of my old friend's coming, and then the JLS boys are coming too'

'OMG, I didn't realize they were coming! I know you know them, but I didn't think they were coming! I can't wait to meet them!' Hannah squealed excitedly.

'If I'd have known they were coming, I'd have done my hair nicer, and dressed up a bit better..' Nikki said. The others agreed. After about 10 minutes, Marvin, Aston, Oritsé and JB arrived, shortly followed by Jake and Joe. My other guests kept arriving throughout the party. Most of my female guests were chatting and flirting with Marvin, Aston, Oritsé and JB. They were all flirting back apart from Aston, who would occasionally look over at me and smile. I hadn't really talked to him much. All my guests seemed happy. I put on some music, and went into the kitchen to get some more drinks. I felt two strong muscular arms wrap themselves around my waist. A warm breath traveled down my neck, followed by gentle kisses. I smiled and turned around. I kissed his lips softly.

'You know, we shouldn't be doing this. We might get caught' I said once we broke apart.

'We won't baby, don't worry' Aston assured me. As if on queue, Oritsé walked in. His jaw dropped and his eyes widened. I quickly moved out of Aston's grasp, and smiled nervously at Oritsé. He shocked face turned into a grin.

'What are you two little love birds up to then, eh?' he said. He sounded drunk, and was slurring his speech a little. 

'Shh! Reesh, you have to keep this a secret, okay?' I begged.

'Don't worry, your secret is safe with me' he said as he clumsily tapped his nose. He left the kitchen and closed the door behind him.

'That was way too close. What if he tells somebody?!' I panicked.

'Don't worry, he won't. He'll have forgotten by tomorrow anyway. He won't remember a thing from tonight' Aston told me.

'I hope your right Ast' I sighed. He wrapped his arms around my waist again, and we had a long warm hug. When we pulled away, we went back into the living room.

My guests started leaving after midnight. After a while, everyone one was gone, but Marvin was nowhere to be seen.

'Where the hell has he got to?' Aston wondered out loud.

'I don't have a clue' I giggled. 'He'll turn up sooner or later' I smiled. 

'Well, we should make the most of the time we have alone' Aston grinned. He kissed me hard and urgently.

'Not here Ast, he might see us' I said when we pulled apart. I grabbed Aston's hand and pulled him upstairs. As we got to the top of the stairs, we heard some moans coming from the spare room.

'yes baby, yes!' we heard someone shout. It sounded just like Marvin.

'Looks like one of your guests is responsible for Marv disappearing' Aston whispered, trying to hold in a laugh. I giggled.

'Can we please hurry up and get to my room? Marvin is like a brother to me, so its not particularly nice to hear him having sex' I whispered. 

'Okay' Aston giggled. We hurried into my room, and had a repeat of Friday night.
