"Gracie, come here baby." Jeff spoke, holding his hands out. The 5 year old confidently walking over the her father, he cheered and pressed a kiss to her head. Olivia had looked over at the two, winking at Jeff and continued editing.
Grace proved to be a daddy's girl, but other than her parents, Todd was her favourite. She loved sleepovers at David's, she loved walking round the neighbourhood with Todd, and hiking with daddy. Even though she doesn't do much walking. And even though Grace growing up has been a handful, Jeff and Olivia wouldn't exchange it for the world. Even recently, Jeff has been begging for another one.
Leaving Grace occupied with her toys, Jeff joined Olivia in the kitchen as she fed Nerf and Roo. "You saw how good she was with me, right?"
"Yes, Jeff. You're her favourite parent." Olivia spoke, turning to face her husband. "But that doesn't mean we're having another child anytime soon."
"Why?" He groaned, holding her hips. His face showed a look of sadness, yet he wasn't so devastated about it. "We can handle it."
"Jeff, can we let Gracie grow up a bit?" Olivia asked, holding both sides of his face. He looked down at her and nodded, pressing a light kiss to her forehead. "Dinner is on the way."
Olivia sat at the computer, headphones on and editing her latest video with David and Jason. Jeff was putting Grace to bed. It was 7.57pm and the Wittek household was quiet, other than the soft sounds of Jeff's voice reading out words from Grace's favourite story. Olivia had been editing for almost two hours, and her eyes were sore. She stood up from her chair and made her way to the kitchen, in search of some coffee.
On her way, she'd caught the sight of Grace asleep on Jeff, who was asleep on her hammock chair. She was in awe at the sight and smiled, putting Grace in her bed. After waking up her husband and walking with him to bed, she'd completely lost track of what she was doing and had fallen asleep.
