"I hope you all know the importance of a doctor. You can't just give a wrong information to a patient especially something that can change a person's life," I snap, my voice sharp and harsh. This is one of the worse days in the hospital. Roy, one of the doctor interchanged the scanning reports by mistake and caused a huge commotion because one person had tumor in their brain. The reports were interchanged and the person with no problem thought that he had tumor. Only when he came for the further treatment, one of the nurse realized what has happened and she immediately reported it to the head office.
We immediately traced the person who actually had tumor and informed him the news and Roy is suspended and will very soon face the remaining consequences. It was damn tiring and as the head of the department it's my duty to inform everyone about the news and warn them. Dad was very disappointed with the news and frankly speaking, me too. This was not what I expected from my parents.
I hear the sound of door opening and everyone's gaze move towards the door. "Who the heck is that?" I shout at the top of my voice. I had specifically mentioned that nobody should disturb unless it's an emergency.
I turn my head towards the door and my eyes widens slightly when I find Mia standing there looking like a scared puppy. My anger immediately melts away.
Jesus. I love her. The knowledge always knocks me to my knees. I love my Mia -funny clothes, shy manner, and all. She was my entertainment, my conscience, the mirror into my soul. She was my resting place.
I'd grown so used to living my life with her. I'd overlooked the way gazing at Mia's pretty brown eyes and flyaway curls made my mouth water. Mia's beauty had pleased my eye from the beginning. It was real and bone deep, fed by her innate goodness. It was the kind of soul-nourished beauty that would still be with her when she was an old lady.
I love Mia, and I'm going to marry her. I'm going to marry her for real, dammit! I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, to fill her belly with my babies and fill their house with his love. Instead of scaring me, the idea of spending the rest of my life with her sent such a rush of joy through me that I felt as if I were rising up off the floor.
"Love," I mutters and the fear on her face disappeared. A small smile tugs at the corner of her lips. I nod my head indicating her to come forward and she did. She walks towards me and once she reaches near me, I pull her into my arms. Her hands on my shoulders. Her lips were parted as she breathed. She hadn't worn lipstick today, just a light-colored gloss that made them look wet.
I wanted to lick it off, clean those lips so the only thing on them was me. Mia let out a breath, and the words kiss me lingered in the air.
So I did.
I crushed my lips down on hers, hard. I moaned, letting the sticky gloss wet my lips and the softness of her mouth mold against mine. She gasped, wrapping her arms tighter around my neck. Her fingers dove into the strands of hair at my nape, digging her nails into my scalp.
I loosened my grip on her hips so I could wrap my arms around her back, then I pulled her to me, smashing our bodies together. I missed her!
Mia was a sweet creature. The sweetest I'd ever tasted.
"So this is Mia?"
The voice broke us apart. Mia and I both panted. I shook my head, blinking furiously to get out of my lusty haze as I turned to my father who's smiling at us.
"Umm.. Hi," Mia mutters. I chuckle hearing her response.
I wrap my arm around her shoulder and pull her closer to me. "Dad, this is Mia, my fiancé," I tell and I hear few gasps. Dad looked slightly amused and I can't blame him for that. This is the first time I introduced a girl to my parents and they have all right to be surprised about it. Dad's eyes moves towards the ring on Mia's hand and a smile plasters on his face. He rises to his feet from the seat and moves away from the isle as he comes around it to reach near us.
"It's nice to meet you Mia," Dad tells and pulls Mia for a hug. I can see the surprise on her face, she has never done something like this. She never got enough of love from anyone and the rest of my life is to ensure that she gets everything she deserves.
"Hey neurosurgeon!" I turned to the door. Margaret stood there, leaning against the door, smiling at us. She's one of the doctors here and my best friend. She was my junior in college and my neighbor too back then. "I'm glad that you finally got the time to see your girl," she snaps, walking towards me. Her eyes scan the doctors who are sitting on their respective chairs.
"You know Mia?"
"I met her in the waiting room. She was waiting to meet you but was asked to wait as you were so busy to meet her. If you don't have time for her then who else. The least you could do was show her the way to your cabin so she could rest there."
"You were in the waiting area?" I ask Mia who gives me a nod. "Why? You could have called me."
She looks shy. "I..I...wanted to surprise you." The sincerity in her voice touches me deep. I hold her hand and smiles at her.
"Who asked you to wait in the waiting room?" I ask. Mia frowns slightly before scanning the small crowd. She leans in towards me and points to the left side. It's Myra, one of the junior doctors and my old hookup. Myra stands up, her gaze fixed on me and Mia. "Myra, next time Mia is here, send her directly to my cabin. You get me?"
"Yes, Doctor," she replied before sitting back on her chair. She's going to be trouble.
I turn towards Mia with a smile. "Go to my cabin with Margaret, I'll join you within ten minutes. Is that okay?" I ask and she smiles brightly. I press a soft kiss on her hair.
She walks away along with Margaret who's glaring at me and I turn towards my Dad. "We need to talk," he tells and I nod my head, getting ready for the questions.
