Part 3: Meeting the gems

Y/N sat down on Steven's sofa. When Steven returned, he had three strange looking women beside him. Each one of them seemed to have a gem located on their body. The tallest one introduced herself first. "My name's Garnet," she said, taking off her visor and revealing her three eyes. Y/N was shocked, but he decided not to be rude and kept silent. Next, the purple one jumped onto the sofa next to Y/N and announced her name, which was Amethyst, and gave Steven a funny look with her eyebrows raised, causing Steven to blush and look down. The final woman bent down with her pale hand extended. "I'm Pearl," she smiled, as Y/N shook her hand.

"Steven told me about you," Y/N said, "can you really produce holograms from your gem?" Amethyst laughed and interrupted;"She can do waaaay more than just that dude!"
"She can fuse," Garnet said randomly.
"I don't think Y/N knows what fusing is Garnet," Steven interjected quickly. Y/N looked up at the three-eyed giant woman, and then at Steven. "Okay, let's start from the beginning," Pearl said, kneeling on the floor. Steven and Garnet joined Y/N and Amethyst on the sofa and a translucent hologram emerged from Pearl's forehead.

By the time Pearl had finished explaining everything, Y/N was pretty tired, and was about ready to go home. He found it hard to comprehend all the knowledge he had just received, but, after a few real life examples, he was in complete belief of Steven Universe and his strange... family? Steven noticed Y/N's drousyness and decided to walk him home. Y/N blushed and insisted he could just call Jeffrey, but Steven refused to listen, so they ended up walking home together, thoughts racing through Y/N's head all the way.

The sky was a dark, misty blue and stars sparkled like tiny fireflies. Shallow puddles splashed apart as Steven's red flip-flops hit their liquid surface, and soft smoke emerged from the two young men's mouths. They laughed and gossiped, as the moonlight hit their faces and the wind blew past them. Y/N had never met someone, let alone a stranger, as kind as Steven. Just thinking of him made his heart flutter. But love at first sight couldn't exist- right? Y/N looked at Steven shyly, examining his rosy face and his handsome facial features. He was so cute-looking, but his family would never approve of him, especially his weird alien companians. He had already come so close to loosing everything: his future inhereted fortune, his parents, his friends, you name it. And that was only because he came out to them.

Yes. He came out to them as a gay man. And his parents hated him for it, they could barely even look at him. To them, he was wrong, a freak of nature, and they almost refused to give him any of their money after they died, and so, with a lot of arguing with the government and their butler Jeffrey, he was taken away to Beach City with the promise that he would get their inheritance if they only had to see him once a year and never got with another man. His department was abrupt and unexpected, and none of his friends knew why he left so suddenly. Not even his best friend Connie, who had recently moved there. She and Jeffrey were the only ones understood and accepted him for who he was.

And now, here he was, crushing on someone he just met.

"Uhh...Y/N, are you okay, you've just been staring at me for five minutes... do I have something on my face?" Steven asked nervously. Y/N went beetroot red and flushed. "N-no! I'm just, still processing this whole gem thing." He looked down at his feet nervously. Steven laughed sweetly, and asked Y/N where he was from, scratching his curly hair. "I'm from central Keystone," Y/N replied, remembering his old hometown, "my parents ran a chain of motels there as a part time job to their worldwide company, and they were furious when they found out that one of them had their pool evaporated... somehow." Steven's eyes widened and he started fake-whistling as he remembered his short stay at the motel with Ruby, Sapphire and Greg two years ago. Y/N tried to replicate Steven's whistling as a joke, and ended up coughing and spluttering as they arrived infront of his large new house.

"So, see ya soon Y/N," Steven chirped happily as he waved goodbye and started walking away. "B-Bye!" Y/N squeaked, before running into his home, accidently pushing past Jeffrey in a rush to get to his room. Jeffrey smirked and could tell his young master was flustered, when he heard a soft ping on his phone. It was Y/N's parents. It read:

Mrs L/N: "Has Y/N arrived yet? You and him better follow the rules we set"

Jeffrey rolled his dark eyes and was reminded of the boy his master was talking to, and how red and embarrassed he looked after. He was a young man after all, and he couldn't help his emotions. So he responded with:

Jeffrey: "Y/N's arrived in Beach city. Sorry, but I must not have my glasses on because I can't understand the second part of your sentence"
