Meanwhile at Hawkins Amusement Park
Millie's POVThe great Finn Wolfhard took me out to an amusement park. I did not expect this for our first date. I mean, first outing as friends. I have no idea why I thought that. Let's just move on, shall we? Good.
"Very bold choice Finnlard, you sure you can afford to take care of me? My mom once had to apply for three different jobs to keep me satisfied." I joked. "If you must know, I almost won the lottery once." He chuckled. "Were you off by one number?" I asked him. "No I was off by all five." He chuckled. I couldn't stop giggling.
"But the point is, I had commitment. That's got to count for something, right?" He asked. "Not if you got all the numbers wrong Finn." I replied. "So when you write a test and fail, don't people usually say; you did your best?" He inquired. "Well yes, but firstly I've never failed a test before and secondly, you don't win money for writing a test so your explanation is already invalid." I shrugged. "Don't nerd out on me Millie. Our night hasn't even started." He whined. I couldn't help but smile.
"You're pretty fun to be around Wolfhard." I tell him. "I can say the same for you Brown. In fact, I don't even regret taking you out tonight." He smirked. "Save that statement for the end of the night." I replied. "Then let's go have some fun Mills." He grabs my arm and starts pulling me further into the park towards the largest roller coaster.
I immediately widened my eyes. "Finn, wait a god damn minute! Can't we start someplace smaller?" I asked, looking around for something more comfortable. I scooted closer to Finn's side. "L-L-Like that one?" I pointed a shaking finger towards a spinning ride.
"Oh come on Millie. you're not sacred, are you?" He rolled his eyes. "I am and I'm not afraid to admit it." I repsond. "No let's go on the coaster. Go big or go home." He says. "Please don't make me go on that Finn," I begged.
Finn looked over and sighed. "Alright. But you're riding this one with me at some point tonight." He said and walked over to the spinning ride. We got on and sat in one of the seats. Finn wrapped his arm around my shoulders to provide comfort. God this felt amazing. I'd be pissed if he ever let go, but why do I feel that way? Oh lord, this can't be happening.
Finn's POV
The night was going great so far. Turns out Millie and I can get along after all. Once I got into the groove of things, it didn't take that much effort to get her to go out with me. Well not on a date but you know what I a mean.
I'm still conflicted on my thoughts. A part of me wants to be friends with her and another part wants me to stay away from her. I had my reasons for leaving her in the first place. It hurt me knowing that I would never speak to her again, but here we are. I'm the happiest I've ever been and I thank Mille Bobby Brown for that. Maybe I should also thank Gaten and Caleb. I have a feeling they're somehow behind this.
I received a text from none other than the infamous chocolate daddy himself.
Caleb: Broooo. How's your date with Millie?
I showed Millie the text and she immediately busted her gut. "You told Sadie, didn't you?" I asked her. "Yeah, but I didn't say it was a date. I just said we were hanging out." She answered. "I hope people don't ask us if we're dating tomorrow." I hoped. "They probably will. People have time to concentrate on every little detail of our lives instead of focusing on their own." Millie laughed. I've always admired her British accent, even when she shouts at me.
Millie's group and my group are one of the most popular people at Hawkins High so there's no doubt that they'll definitely interrogate us all day long. "Hey, there's no way I'm going to let this ruin our night. Let's continue our date shall we." I smirked not realizing what I said.
"D-Date?" Her eyes widened. Oh man things are about to get weird. "Yeah, our friend date." I replied. Nice save Wolfhard, you're blowing it. "Oh well...ok." Millie unconvincingly brushed off the topic. Oh my god, I'm such an idiot. Millie and I both glue our eyes on our phones to avoid the awkwardness.
