The Next Morning
12 August 2019
Millie's POV"Millie Bobby Brown! Wake up this instant young lady!" My mom threw my blankets off the bed. "What's wrong mom?" I sat up as quickly as I could. "Your late." She simply said. I looked at the time and saw I was fourty minutes late.
"Shit." I immediately jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom. "Language!" I heard my mom shout from my room. "I'll put money in the swear jar!" I say as I close the door. After freshening up, I waited for my dad to give me a lift to school like he always does. I sometimes wish I got to school early on a regular basis to spend more time with my friends before the bell rings but my father makes it a little too difficult. You'll figure out why just soon enough.
"Alright Mills let's go." My dad ran down the stairs and out the door. I followed him to the garage and got in the passenger seat. He soon pulled out the driveway and drove off.
"How'd you sleep kiddo?" He asked. "Like a baby dad, just woke up a little late." He took something from his pocket and gave it to me. It was a silver bracelet."What's this for?" I place it on my wrist. "It's the bracelet I gave your mother in our senior year." He replied. "You want me to give this to the boy I like?" I joked. My dad laughed hysterically after hearing it. "No. I'll murder those boys before they even try. I don't want them doing what Jacob did to you." He said sternly.
"Millie, I'm giving you this bracelet because it helped your mom get through her final year of school. No matter what obstacles you face, the bracelet should be a reminder that you'll overcome anything, plus your mother and I will always support you." Wow Robert Brown everyone. Dad of the fucking year.
"No boys Millie, no boys. I mean it. I'll arrest them all if I have to." Ding ding ding, there it is. My father is a part of the Hawkins Police Department. Not only is he a part of it, he's also the captain of the entire force. The story of my life. My dad soon pulled up into the school's parking lot.
"Kid. I want you to have fun at school this year. Make it count." He gave me the tightest of hugs. "I love you too dad." I grinned. Once I got of out the car, I started walking towards the main doors and that's where I ran into Noah.
"Mills!" He warmly opened his arms. "Schnapp!" I happily accepted his embrace.
"How have you been?" He let's go as we start making our way through the crowded Hawkins High hallway. "I've been great. God I haven't seen you in a while." I said. "Let's just hope we share a lot of classes this year." He nods his head in agreement. "What about your buddy Finn, aren't you going to upset him?" I teased. "I spend too much time with him. I can do all of that outside of school." He chuckled. All the noise in the hallway disappeared as the main doors opened once again. Only one group of boys were capable of doing such. Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin. Gosh I hate those guys. "How can you be friends with these assholes?" I whispered in his ear. "They're pretty chilled. You and Finn judge too easily. The hatred between our groups originates from you two. If you get along with him. Then your girls will get along with my boys. Finn's not an asshole at all, you just chose to see him as one. Give him a chance and you'll like him, I swear." He stated.
"I highly doubt that." I couldn't help but think of what he said to me. Noah does have a point. I don't even know Finn that well anymore. Maybe he isn't so bad after all. Finn walked to us with Caleb and Gaten. "Sup Noah, let's get to class quickly, seats are running out." The curly haired boy dragged his friend away without even greeting me. How rude. I considered giving him another chance and he completely blew it. I guess people never change.
Finn's POV
"Seriously Finn, what the hell was that?" Noah complained as the boys and I were pacing to home room. "I don't want you talking to her, alright. I thought we all made that perfectly clear." I responded. "Yeah why were you talking to her in the first place man?" Caleb added.
"Gaten?" Noah called out to him. "Guys, please leave Noah alone. He is now an adult who is capable of making his own informed decisions. Without requiring input from any of you." Gaten says while his eyes are glued to his phone with slight smug on his face. "Who you texting to?" I grabbed his phone. "Hey, give that ba..." I interrupted him by reading his last message out loud.
"Bunbun, I'm sorry for losing your Mr Snuggles. I bought you a new one last night." I laughed and so did the boys. "Gaten I thought you said you threw that doll away." Celeb ran out of breath. "He's not a doll. He's a stuffed animal." Gaten whined while taking his phone back. "Let's all get to class, shall we?" Noah chuckled.
Once we entered home room we sat by the back of the class waiting for our teacher to mark the register. Caleb tapped my shoulder grabbing my attention. He showed me his new sling shot. I didn't really care as I had something else on my mind.
Millie walked in the classroom with Sadie and Lexi as the teacher started taking down the register. I hate her so much. She used to be someone who clouded my judgement and maybe she still does, but I don't want anything to do with her. I would stop at nothing to hurt her the way she did me.
