Trixie's POV

"Trixie! Trix!" I pulled the covers over my head as I heard my mother. "Trixie Mattel!" I heard my door open and the sound of my mom's heels on my hardwood floors. My mother pulled my blanket off of me. "Trixie."

"What mom?"

"Don't what me young lady. Why are you home?"

"I wasn't feeling good mom."

"Trixie, don't you think you are missing too much school?

"No."

"Well I do, I'm taking away your car keys."

"Mom, what? You can't do that!"

"Oh I can and I think I will. You have gotten out of hand lately."

"I get good grades so what is the problem?" My mother sighed as she shook her head.

"You not seeing what is happening to yourself is the problem Trixie. I am going to work, I won't be home until later tonight so make sure you lock up."

"Yeah, whatever." My mother kissed my head and rubbed my back.

"I love you okay? Your dinner is on the stove. Oh, Tyler called looking for you."

"What'd he want?"

"Does your brother need a reason to call you?"

"I guess not."

"Give him a call sweetie okay?"

"Yeah, I guess."

"I'll see you when I get home." My mom walked out of my room, leaving my door open. I cursed under my breathe and got up, closing my door. I walked past my mirror and paused, looking at myself for a little.

"Whatever." I crawled back in bed and looked at my light pink ceiling. Katya was back. I didn't know what else to do but cry. That is all I did really when I thought of her. How long does it take to get over someone you love? That is probably what Tyler wanted to talk about. He probably wanted to know if Katya and I talked. I remember the day he found out we had a thing going, three months after it ended.

"Trixie?"

"Yeah Ty?"

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." I played with my food as my mom, Tyler, Violet and I sat at the dinner table. Violet kicked me softly under the table and motioned to Tyler and my mom. She leaned in close to me.

"Tell them."

"Why?"

"So you won't be alone in this."

"I'm fine."

"Lies."

"Hey what are you two talking about?" I laughed awkwardly as I looked at my brother.

"Oh, nothing."

"Liar."

"Shut up Vi."

"Just say it."

"Say what?"

"That she is sad that Katya is gone."

"Who's Katya?"

"You know her mom, she's the girl with the black hair and the light Russian accent."

"Oh, the one with the fishnets and leather jacket?"

"That's her."

"Oh, is she the girl that left for Russia?"

"Yeah, we all were at a party of hers and well the next morning she just up and left."

"Ah, but what does that have to do with Trixie?"

"You know, I don't know mom." Tyler and our mom looked at me.

"Um, we were friends." Violet sighed and cleared her throat.

"They were way more than friends. They were involved. So involved that Trixie's heart is broken."

"Violet shut up."

"Trix, is that true?" I looked at Tyler and saw nothing but pain in his eyes.

"Yeah." Tyler shook his head and got up from the table, going outside. "Nice going Violet." I ran outside after Tyler. He was sitting on the steps with his head down. I stepped slowly towards him. "Ty.."

"Since when do we keep secrets from each other?"

"I.."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't know how Tyler. She was your best friend."

"Do you love her?" I rubbed my arm as I looked away from Tyler.

"Yeah, I do. But that doesn't matter now. She's gone."

"Did she know?"

"Know what?"

"That you loved her?"

"Probably not."

"Hmm." Tyler stood up and walked to me. He put his hand on my shoulder and smiled softly. "You'll be okay. She will come back."

"It's okay if she doesn't."

"If you want to try and believe that you can. But just know that love doesn't work like a light switch." Tyler kissed the top of my head and walked back inside. I took a deep breath as I sat on the steps. I looked up at the moon with tears in my eyes.

"I wonder if I cry to the moon, would you hear me and come back?"

Right then and there I knew that my heart would never recover from being broken. I turned on my side and looked at my closet. A black jacket caught my eye, causing me to get up. I walked to my closet and opened it all the way. Inside of the closet, on a hanger was the black leather jacket Katya gave me. It was freshly washed. My mother did the laundry so I knew it was her. I grabbed the jacket and looked at it, tears filling my eyes. I held the jacket close to my chest, sinking to the floor, crying my eyes out. I missed Katya, I missed her so much.
