Trixie's POV
"Trixie, Trixie you here?" I sighed as I heard my brother calling me. "Trixie, your car is here so I know you're here."
"Then why ask?" Tyler opened my door and turned on my light. "Tyler, turn that off."
"No, get your vampire ass up."
"Tyler go away."
"Trixie, stop being such a hermit." Tyler pulled my blanket off of me. "Get up."
"Fuck off."
"I will call Kim and Shea."
"And I'll tell them the same thing." Tyler sat on the foot of my bed and looked at me. "What?"
"Just worried about you. You aren't the same."
"Yeah, everyone tells me that. I don't need to hear it from you Tyler."
"But it matters more from me. I've been here through everything. You have never pushed me away before but this time you shut me out completely. Trixie, you can't handle this on your own."
"I have been."
"Trix, crying in the dark isn't handling it. Katya is back, why don't you talk to her?"
"Because I don't have anything to say."
"I'm sure you have a lot to say."
"Nothing that she would want to hear."
"You're not giving it a chance."
"Yeah, I did. I did two years ago and look where I ended up."
"Trix, just because you fall off the horse doesn't mean you stay down. Sometimes the pain is what makes a successful ride all the more exciting."
"Tyler, my heart doesn't feel like being thrown off the horse again. It had enough the first time. Katya is happy, okay? That is good, I'm happy for her."
"But what about you?"
"What do you mean?"
"When are you going to be happy for yourself sis? You can't keep this up forever."
"Tyler, why are you here anyway? I haven't seen you in a year. You've been busy with Violet and her family, so why are you here? Don't you have a game of golf to play at the country club in Miami?"
"I told Violet I wanted to come see you and mom."
"That was a waste of a trip for you."
"No, it wasn't. I get to check on you."
"You can do that with a message or call."
"Trixie stop being so cold. I'm here and there is nothing you can do about it."
"Whatever, I don't care."
"Well you'll care about this, we are all going out Saturday."
"What?"
"Violet, Willam, Courtney, Adore, Kim, Shea, and I."
"Well, have fun with that."
"You're going too."
"No I'm not."
"Yes, you are. Mom said she will take your house key and lock you out the whole day if she has to."
"You're such a pain."
"That's my job." Tyler smiled at me and ruffled my hair. "I love you Trix, no matter how you treat us or act."
"Yeah, whatever."
"I have to go but I'll see you Saturday. I'll be here to pick you up at 6pm so be ready. Oh yeah, I brought mom some flowers, I know she likes putting them in her office. Shit, I almost forgot.." Tyler reached in his pocket and pulled out a bracelet. He grabbed my hand and slipped the bracelet onto my wrist. "There, now we both have one."
"Tyler, what is this for?"
"I saw them and I thought they were nice." Tyler held up his arm to show me the matching bracelet that he was wearing. "Anyway, I'll see you Saturday, alright?"
"Sure." Tyler kissed my head and stood up. He walked out of my room, closing my door behind him. I laid back down in my bed, feeling a bit restless. I gave up on going back to sleep and dragged myself out of bed. I walked downstairs and into the kitchen to find something simple to eat. As I walked to the fridge something caught my eye, pink roses. I ran my fingers over the petals of one of the roses, my mind wondering. It was crazy how many things made me think of Katya.
After making myself something to eat, I settled downstairs on the sofa. It was completely dark, the only light was from the tv. I'd decided that going out wouldn't be the worst thing ever. It was just bowling, right? Tyler hadn't done anything wrong to me, if anything I was the one to blame for our relationship going sour. Every time he would call after he left for college, I'd ignore him. Part of me blamed him for not protecting me from Katya, but then again. I didn't tell him. And I could bet money that I would have been more upset if he tried to keep her away from me. I had fully saw that I was a complicated person and that caused so many of my relationships to fall apart. I hid my feelings until they boiled over, and in the end I was the one that suffered.
