Katya's POV
After stopping home to drop off my bags, I called Shea. She told me to meet her around 5:30 at the mall. I got here at 5:30 on the bot but because it is Shea and Kim, they were late. I walked through the mall, looking at the things on display as I waited. It felt almost like a dream, being home. Well, more of a nightmare considering that Trixie isn't by my side. It's crazy how emotions can last after being apart from a person. But what is even crazier is that being apart makes those emotions stronger. It took all I had in me not to pull Trixie up and kiss her or wipe away the tears that had escaped her beautiful eyes. "Oh my gosh. Katya!" I turned around to see Shea and Kim walking towards me. Kim looked a bit shocked as she smiled.
"Hey Kim."
"Fucking shit, hey Katya. I love your hair, the blonde looks amazing on you."
"Well thank you. The light purple looks nice on you."
"I told her it would. Ready to shop girls?"
"Well, I came to support. I missed my prom."
"Wait, you didn't go to prom?"
"No." Shea and Kim looked at each other then smiled at me. "What?"
"You should ask Trixie." Kim grabbed my arm as she spoke.
"Isn't she dating Milk?"
"Yeah, but who cares. You two can go as friends."
"I'm with Kim on this."
"Guys, I'm sure she's okay with not going."
"Katya, you know that's bullshit. She loves to look all dolled up and pretty, just ask."
"I don't even have her number anymore, so how could I ask?"
"I'll give it to you."
"Kim.."
"Kim is right Katya. Trixie isn't happy. Milk isn't the guy for her."
"Well, I don't kn..." I stopped in front of a window as something caught my attention.
"What is it?" Kim and Shea stood beside me.
"That skirt." In the window on display, was a hot pink short leather skirt. The only thing I could think about was Trixie when I looked at it.
"That is cute."
"That is Trixie."
"Well, get it and take it to her."
"I couldn't do that Shea."
"And why not?" Kim rolled her eyes at me.
"Because Kim, we aren't even friends well I don't think we are. We haven't spoken in two years."
"Blah blah blah. You guys need to talk now. You can't figure out what you are if you don't talk."
"Kim, we aren't anything."
"Says who?"
"Said Trixie when she kissed Milk in the garden at my party." Kim and Shea got quiet and looked away. "Yeah, I thought so. Listen, Trixie will always have my love but that doesn't matter now. She has moved on and there is nothing I can do about it." I started walking but stopped when Shea grabbed my hand.
"You love her?"
"Yeah, I have for a while now. Why?"
"She didn't think you did."
"Doesn't matter. Come on, let's go find your dresses."
Kim and Shea bounced from store to store, trying to find dresses that matched their style. As we walked around the mall, my mind was all over the place. I couldn't really focus on anything, which was a problem for me. Trixie didn't think that I loved her. That was kind of hard to hear, really hard to hear actually. I loved that girl more than words could express and it fucked with me knowing that she didn't think I loved her. I had to remind myself that it didn't matter anymore though. There was nothing I could do about it now, even though I wanted to.
After spending about another 4 hours at the mall, I said bye to Shea and Kim. Both of them finally had managed to pick out a dress. Shea settled on a red dress and Kim decided on a blue one. I pulled into the driveway of my house and turned off the car. "Katya, come inside and eat!" My mom was standing in the doorway, mixing something in a large bowl. I shook my head and got out of the car.
"Mom, I'm a big girl."
"So, that matters to me why?"
"I can take care of myself mom."
"Well, then you should remember to eat."
"I'm not hungry."
"Well, your growling stomach says otherwise. Come inside, I would like to talk to you anyway." Oh god, what could I have done now? I walked inside the house behind my mother. "Wash your hands then come eat."
"Yes ma'am." I walked upstairs to the bathroom and washed my hands. I knew I had done something. I didn't know what though and that shit bothered me. Well more like scared me. I walked back into the kitchen just as my mother set down my food.
"Eat up."
"Thanks mom. So, what did you want to talk about?"
"You, dear."
"Oh, um what about me?"
"Did you enjoy Russia?"
"Yes, it was nice."
"That is good. How was school?"
"I really liked it. I met a lot of new people and made friends."
"Meet any special girl?" My mom took a sip of her coffee as she looked at me.
"Ah, I see where this is going."
"I have no idea what you mean."
"Did you talk to Tyler?"
"No, but I did talk to Adore."
"Of course."
"Katya, what happen?"
"Nothing mom."
"Don't lie to me Katya."
"Mom, I just wasn't what she wanted."
"You two looked happy."
"Yeah, well looks can be deceiving." I played with my food as I held back tears. "I loved her mom, I still do. I saw her today and it was so hard not to pull her into a hug and tell her how much I missed her. I wanna think it was a good idea to go to Russia. I had time to myself and time to figure out what I wanted in life. But all I found was that I wanted her and loved her." I laughed as I wiped a tear from my face. "I went to the mall today and everything that was pink or yellow reminded me of her. I can't stand it mom, I can't." My mom stood up from her chair and walked to me. She pulled me into her arms as I cried.
"That is love honey. It's strange and can hurt sometimes. Baby, that is what happens when you fall for someone. But listen, when the pain is over..the goodness of it makes everything better. Yeah, it takes time but you'll heal I know you will." I nodded my head and cried into my mother's apron. She rocked softly to calm me down, the same thing she did when I was younger. Maybe I was still my mom's little girl.
After crying for what felt like forever, my mom and I sat at the table making desserts. I wiped my hands when I felt my phone buzz in my back pocket. I unlocked my phone and clicked on the message. It was a text from Kim, a number to be exact.
Kim: Trixie's number..do with it what you will babe❤
