The green eyed girl's text awakened the swarm of butterflies in my stomach. The small, winged creatures always soared to life when she was nearby. I took a deep breath and tossed my phone onto my bed before sprinting towards the front door. By the time I'd reached the doorknob, I'd only tripped once. I swung the door open to find Lauren standing there, a small smirk slowly growing on her face and her hands behind her back.

"Hi." I squeaked.

"Hi.", she giggled, looking me up and down, "Why are you out of breath?"

"Because I'm out of shape. Don't shame me, Lauren."

"Were you working out or something?" she asked, kinking an eyebrow.

I let out a belly laugh as I stepped aside to let her in. I noticed a bottle of champagne in Lauren's perfectly manicured hands as she walked past me. I also noticed the delectable scent of her perfume.

"No, but you were, and you showered." I said, closing the door behind us.

"I did." she smirked, placing the champagne bottle on the kitchen counter.

"I told you not to." I said, cocking my head to the side as I approached the green eyed girl.

Lauren reached forward and grabbed my hand, pulling me towards her.

"I wasn't about to see my girlfriend for the first time in almost three weeks and smell like a wet dog." she rebutted.

"But your girlfriend told you that she was looking forward to seeing you all sweaty." I replied, finishing off my statement with a bite to my lower lip.

I walked my free hand up Lauren's forearm, making sure to take in every inch of her as we closed the distance between us. Maybe she hadn't listened to me, but at least she smelled absolutely heavenly. She scratched lightly at the back of my neck and pulled my ear to her lips.

"That can still be arranged." she whispered.

With that, I freed my hand from Lauren's grip and grabbed her face with both of my hands instead. I pulled her in for an explosive kiss while her fingers moved to thread their way through my hair immediately. I wasted no time in poking my tongue out and into her mouth, wanting nothing more than to taste her. God, I had missed her full lips so much. I couldn't help but release a muffled moan when she tugged lightly at my dark locks.

When we finally came up for air, we were both smiling like idiots. Lauren slid her hands down my arms and intertwined our fingers yet again.

"Hi." I laughed.

"Hi, baby." she returned.

"Sorry. I got excited."

"Are you actually apologizing for that?"
