Chapter 3: Wildfire

"She's a fierce fighter..."

"She's a wildfire..."

"She's a bad liar..."

"I'm lost in her eyes, most of the time..."

"All I do the whole day through is dreeeeaaaaaammmm of you!" another voice chimed in.

I turned in my seat at the kitchen counter to see my mom prancing into the room, singing the words at the top of her lungs. I smiled as she approached me, placing her hands on my shoulders and kissing my head.

"Me encanta esa, mi amor (I love that one)." she said.

My eyes followed my mom as she moved around the counter and towards the fridge. I think a huge part of me honestly kept my mom around because she would always make me food.

"I love it, too.", I beamed, proud of my latest song, "Do you think Lauren will like it even with...you know, the adjustments?"

"Let's find out." a voice appeared behind me.

I spun around to find none other than my beautiful girlfriend standing in front of me, grinning.

"Lauren!" I screamed, jumping out of my seat.

I attacked her without hesitation, wrapping my arms around her neck and my legs around her torso. She stumbled back a bit, but caught her balance as I gave her the best koala hug I could muster up. Lauren laughed while I rocked us back and forth, her hands finding my back and rubbing gently. Once she finally set me down, I grabbed her face and kissed her, giggling into her lips.

"I didn't know you were coming!" I said.

"That's generally how surprises work, my dear." she replied.

I slid my hands down from her face and interlaced my fingers with hers.

"What are you doing her? Weren't you in the studio?" I asked.
