"Hi!" I beamed.

"I hope you have a good explanation." Camila huffed.

I furrowed my brow as my girlfriend planted a quick kiss on my cheek then walked past me into my apartment.

"Excuse me?" I asked as I closed the door and turned to face her.

"I saw your Instagram story on the way here." she said, pouting.

Camila set her bag down on the kitchen counter, somewhat aggressively, before crossing her arms over her chest. I kinked an eyebrow, racking my brain to remember what the fuck I had put on my story that would cause this reaction in her. As I walked towards her, studying her grumpy features, it suddenly hit me. I couldn't help but smile.

"Oh." I said.

"Oh?" she asked.

"I actually do have a good explanation. I meant to tell you earlier but I got in the car and--"

"Tell me."

"Ok, relax.", I laughed, reaching forward to uncross her arms, "It's the new code blue."

"Oh."

I smirked as I took her hands in mine and pulled her a bit closer to me. Just as we had suspected, and feared, news about me having a girlfriend had indeed gotten around, but luckily it seemed pretty contained to local L.A. gossip.

There were certain perks to not being as famous as I was when I had been with Fifth Harmony, and this was most definitely one of them. It was also the reason that Camila and I had to keep meeting up at my place instead of hers. We couldn't risk any paparazzi showing up to her new mansion, which I sadly still hadn't been to.

The second my team heard about the rumor, they knew that they needed to do some sort of damage control; and luckily minor gossip called for only minor damage control

The second my team heard about the rumor, they knew that they needed to do some sort of damage control; and luckily minor gossip called for only minor damage control. Hence, the 'hey look at me I'm single' post on Instagram. They had it all down to a science, and I was just happy that I didn't have to be thrown into a fake relationship like Camila. I would easily take this over that.

"Remember, don't believe everything you see on social media." I said softly, playing with her fingers.

"I know.", she sighed, "I just didn't expect it to be...like that, I guess."

"Like what?"

"Just...ok, can I ask you a question?"

"Of course, baby." I said, trying my best to hold back my smile.
