Camila was being really weird; not, like, the usual Camila weird. I'm aware she's a strange human. She was being really weird, and had been for a few days now.
I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was or when it had started, but every time we talked or hung out, she felt...distant; like her mind was somewhere else. Every time I asked her if something was on her mind, she just brushed it off.
"I'm just forever in studio mode.", she would say.
She claimed she had lyrics and melodies running through her head at all times so she was distracted, but it felt like more than that. I had never seen her like this. Then again, I hadn't been with Camila when she wrote her first album; maybe this was just what she did. I wouldn't be surprised. I thought back to all the times she would isolate herself to go write while we were in the group. She always had her head in the clouds, something I honestly adored about her, but I couldn't help but feel like something else was going on.
To make matters worse, I was halfway across the world in London now creating music so I couldn't even be with Camila. Phone calls and Facetimes were way worse than hanging out in person because we couldn't really just cuddle in comfortable silence if she got weird. I would just be stuck trying to lighten the mood, unsure if it even really needed to be lightened. Regardless, I really wanted to talk to her about some of my own shit anyway.
