The one time she wasn't awake at this ungodly hour; it had to be today.

I sighed as I set my phone down onto the wooden railing in front of me and leaned forward, placing my foot on one of the lower bars. At least it was a nice night, although I was pretty fucking cold. I wondered if my Miami skin would ever adapt to the slightly colder atmosphere of L.A., or if I would just be forever forced to wear oversized coats any time it got dark in the winter. Where was my beautiful sun when I needed her most?

I knew that Camila was getting ready for the Grammy's. I couldn't blame her for actually trying to get some sleep for once. They were working her to the bone; not that that was really new, but the Grammy's was.

I grinned to myself, picturing Camila up on that stage for the first time in her life. She deserved it so much, and I knew that she was going to kill it. The only problem was, I missed her a lot, and we still hadn't really had a chance to sit down and revisit the conversation we'd had the week earlier. I had a feeling that part of that was because she didn't want to bring it back up, anyway. I had to admit I'd been a bit...harsh.

I was just so done with the same bullshit. I'd accepted that this was the way our relationship was going to work: sneaking around, pretending to be with other people, whatever else our managers decided to throw at us. This was just how it was going to be, and I thought that when we'd decided to get back together, we were both ready for that. It was starting to seem like Camila wasn't.

"Lauren?"

I spun around to see a silhouette making her way towards me. I knew she was a woman, not just because of the way her hips moved as she walked in the dim lighting, but also because there wasn't a man within miles of where I was. I had spent the day with an organization called "She Is The Music", surrounding myself with female artists and allowing myself to create freely. The energy here had been insane, the women so inspirational.
