Chapter 12: I Think I Think Too Much

"Will you please just watch it?" Camila begged.

"Babe, you know I'm not a...Swiftie, as they say." I laughed.

"It doesn't matter! It's such a fun video."

"I'm sure it is."

"I'll watch Game of Thrones for you."

"Mhmm. Well, if that ever happens then we'll talk. For now, I don't feel the need to watch Taylor's video. Sorry not sorry."

"It literally takes like 4 minutes."

"We'll see if I get around to it."

"You're just doing this to annoy meeee."

"It's just so fun. You can't blame me."

That was when Camila decided to sport her cutest pout, complete with her full lower lip sticking out at me. I wished I could just reach into the phone screen and grab her and kiss her. FaceTime was so horribly limiting.

"Stop." I commanded.

"No. Not until it works." she huffed.

"It's Friday night, baby. I don't really want to spend it watching music videos."

"You love music videos!"

"I love some music videos. By some people."

"Taylor would be offended."

"Are you going to tell her?"

"Maybe."

"Oh, wait, you know what I just remembered?"

"What?"

"I don't give a fuck." I teased.

"You're mean." Camila returned, all while trying her best to hold back a smile.

"You're cute."

Camila blew a kiss at me through the screen, and I happily returned the gesture. I took a moment to take in her beauty, unable to wipe the smirk off of my face.

"You really do look great, baby.", I added, "What are you guys doing tonight, again?"

"Dinner and dancing." she said, wiggling her eyebrows up and down.

"Just you and your mama?"

Camila's smile dropped slightly.

"No. I already told you." she said.

I furrowed my brow, wishing I didn't have the worst memory in the world. To be fair, I was also a little high. Once I remembered who was joining Camila on her outing, my heart sank a bit.

"Oh. Right." I said softly.

"Baby, remember nothing has changed." she replied.

"I-I know. I just..."

I faltered. I couldn't help but feel weird every time Camila hungout with Matthew now, even though they were supposedly supposed to be starting to end things. I thought back to Camila breaking the news to me...
