Poem 5 - Endless Abyss

297 23 28

There's an endless abyss between us,
You and I used to be close,
The black void is choking,
Chaining me to the ground,

No mercy is found.
Bound with chains,
I reach my hand to you,
But you're gone.

I wanted support,
Yet there was none.
Why did you leave me?
What did I do?

Don't leave me alone!
Among the darkness,
Bound with chains,
The never-ending blackness,
Crying tears of sorrow,
I tell myself, I'll see you tomorrow.

Tomorrow is only blackness,
You're not here with me.
There is an endless abyss,
Between you and me.

Crying tears of sorrow,
Telling myself, I'll see you again tomorrow.
You showed to me,
I reached my hand,
Before you faded into the sand.
Shatters of my land,
My world falling apart,

My world filled became with mold,
Nothing making sense,
Making me feel dense.
Now there's a deep hole,
Filled with emptiness.
Empty memories missed opportunities.

Crying endless tears of sorrow,
Knowing I won't see you again tomorrow.
Is there even a reason to continue suffocating?
Bound with chains,
The never-ending blackness,
There's a way to cut these chains,
Make me loose again.

You're crying tears of sorrow,
Knowing you'll see me
again tomorrow.
The chains are cut,

I'm free to go from this world
Filled with darkness and suffering.
The darkness disappears,
I see the light again.
We are both crying tears of sorrow,
Knowing we'll see each other today.

Moral of the story/about:

You can pretty much tell what this poem is about. A grieving person, unable to deal with the loss of a loved one. This poem was supposed to be related to the book I'm writing, but it doesn't have to be, and you don't need to read it to understand. I think this is the best poem I wrote so far.

Story moral is, well, what should it be? I guess you can make one...
