The Next Day

Dan POV

"Ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived at your destination."

The pilot's voice brings my attention away from from my haphazard packing of my phone and other necessary electronics into my carry-on under the seat. The plane had stopped, and I knew I had to wake up Phil now. But I didn't really want to. I wanted to take in his essence when he wouldn't know it, because Lord knows I don't get enough opportunities since we live together, work together, collab together...

Howell, you have a problem.

I sighed, tough ahead and just shaking Phil's arm gently because I knew that, with my luck, he'd just wake up and the first thing he sees is my intensely focused gaze on him. As of things weren't hard enough already...

See, I've always had is irrational crush on Phil Lester. It was natural. He was my idol, a YouTuber that I've always admired since I found him. But it became much, much worse when we finally met. Then got to know him. Them became best friends with him. Then moved in with him. Then worked with him on BBC Radio 1.

Basically, we practically set ourselves up for this, though while I suspect he feels the same way as I, he never says anything about it nor does he confront me, when I'm sure he's noticed how obvious my infatuation has become. I wish he would, since I definitely don't have the balls to do it myself, but I know Phil is far quieter than me with things that make him nervous. Not exactly innocent, just easily unnerved.

I moved his arm side by side, and he awoke in a daze, and I said in a hushed voice,"We're here, Phil."

He nodded in a way that almost made him look drunk, and went to out his stuff away only to find I did it for him just a few minutes before we landed. "Do we have everything together," he asked, but ended up yawning the end of his sentence out.

"Yeah, don't worry. Now come on, everyone's already leaving the plane, and we have to check into our hotel," I reminded him.

"Okay." He stood up, letting his seat belt fling unbothered onto his now empty seat, shoulder his bags, and followed closely behind me off the plane.

"So, do you want to get the ice, or shall I?" Phil asked, as I began unpacking my suitcase in our hotel room.

"Ah, you go ahead. I'll work on settling the place, since I don't remember seeing a machine anywhere nearby."

"I did. You probably just didn't notice because you were too busy staring at my lovely face," Phil said, and I blushed until I realized he was joking. I was staring at him a little too long on the way here, and I think he noticed, too, but he never called me out on it before. Not even sarcastically. That was my job, and he always just stuttered when I pulled it on him.

"Well, obviously. It's so goddamn amazing that I don't understand how anyone can look away," I told him, deciding it was safest to return his banter, even though I probably paused too long for it to be completely effective.

He flipped his nonexistent weave to the side, and said,"Obviously."

Oh, Phil. If you only knew how genuine my words were.

"Alright, I'll be right back, then," Phil continued, and left me alone in the room. It gave me a quiet moment to fully admire the room we have been given for our stay. It was a decent size for two, which was good since a bunch of other YouTubers were sharing rooms as well. This thought made me think for a second what would go on between other people in there rooms.
