Chapter Five: Waking Up Alone

A/N: I apologize if this chap isn't that good ><. I hope you still like it. The photo to the right is of the ring that Spirit now wears and the song that I posted was being played in the background of the store, although I didn't mention that in the chap. Please Comment and Vote! (:

When Spirit awoke, he was lying against the side of his bed. Which he pondered upon for a few moments. He couldn't understand why he would sleep on the floor instead of on his bed. His first thought was that he was simply to tired to crawl into bed. Besides that, he was still clothed in his outfit from the day before, even his shoes were still on. His whole body ached, especially when he tried to stretch out. He stayed put for a very long time.

When he finally decided to get up, the first thing he did was wipe the drool off of the side of his cheek. He glanced around his room, looking for a hint to prove that he wasn't going crazy. The only hints he found were in his ruffled bed sheets and a bloody rag that lay on the hardwood floor. Spirit himself wasn't injured, however, when he went into the bathroom he was taken aback. His clothing was soiled by dried blood. It took him a moment to realize that the blood was not his own.

Though, his relief was short-lived because he was soon overcome with worry for the man that he'd brought home last night. He wondered if the man was okay, or he if he was lying in the dirt somewhere dying. Although, he was forced the urge to go search for him aside. He told himself that he didn't know the guy and that he had no idea where he would go. Besides that, he told himself that if the guy could make it down all the stairs in the building, then the guy had to be fine. And, on that thought, Spirit decided to get ready for the day.

The first thing he did was take a shower. As soon as he stepped in, he felt his shoulders relax and let his eyes close. After his shower, he slipped on a pair of faded blue jeans and a navy blue sweater. He then slipped on his black coat, and wrapped a grey scarf around his neck. Spirit had always been a little sensitive in cold weather, and his sensitivity went up in the winter time, so he made sure to bundle up. He pulled his shoes on and made his way downstairs. He was supposed to meet up with Kami today.

He walked down the street with a new found bounce in his step. He was so excited to see Kami again. There was something about her that made him feel better. When he caught sight of her, a smile spread across his lips. He rose his arm and waved at her. Her back was faced to him, but he knew it was her, it was like he could sense her.

        "Kami!" he called.

She turned to look at him, she waved and gave him a small smile. She walked a little ways down the sidewalk to meet him. His smile only fell when he saw Asuza.

"W-what it Azusa doing here?" he whispered to Kami.

"Oh, yeah, about that...she came to help us pick out your wardrobe."

        "Oh."

"Don't get cozy with each other out in public!" Azusa snapped.

        "W-what are you-"

"We don't need people thinking that we chose you because you are intimate with, Kami," she went on.

"W-wh...I'm not!" Spirit shouted, his face becoming red.

"Yes, yes, I'm sure you're not. Come along, then," she demanded.

Spirit was flustered by what Azusa had said. He had only just met Kami, there was no way they could be in...that...sort of relationship. Still, he followed the two girls inside of a small shop. He was taken aback by the appearance of it's interior. It gave him the creeps. The walls were all painted a metallic black and the lights were very dim. There were also strange looking skulls here and there.
