A/N: I hope you enjoy chapter six! :) Please Vote & Comment. Also, I realize that the photo that I have attached to the right is from Black Butler, but I attached it to show you what Spirit's current hair style would be similar to. Although, I picture it just a bit shorter. And then we have the song. There were actually several songs I was looking at for this chap, but I thought this one fit the best. Well, I suppose I shoul elaborate on why I chose this particular song. So, Stein is going through something that he doesn't understand. Since he had been in the asylum since he was a small child he forgot how many feelings felt. In that sense, he doesn't understand what he is feeling when Spirit appears and is so persistant towards getting Stein to communicte with him. He also doesn't understand why he felt almost relaxed with Spirit, and these unknown feelings frightne him, and the thought that he could be danger to others, also frightens him because he doesn't want to harm anybody. So, that is why he wants Spirit to stay away from him. And, he doesn't want to feel what he is starting to feel, so it's as if these feelings are tearing him apart inside. Also, when the song says 'I need you too badly,' I don't want it to seem like it is specifically referring to Spirit, because it's not. It's referring to anyone in general, because in reality Stein doesn't want to be alone. Gosh, this may be the longest author's note I've ever written lol. I hope this helps you to better understand my intentions with the song and the photo.

Chapter Six: The Snow

Stein sauntered around the corner of a nearby building. He was looking for a place that he could hide. He needed a place that he could "live". So far, he had no luck finding a suitable enough place. He didn't want to go back to the alley he had found the first night, he didn't want to risk making himself easier for that man to find him. He wouldn't go back to the asylum. Even though he wore a sweatshirt, Stein felt a chill run through his body. The fierce wind bit at his nose and cheeks. Stein didn't like being out in public, he didn't like the noise, and he didn't like the way the sun felt on his pale skin.

In some ways, he found himself craving the solitude of his old metal room. At least there he had his thoughts to keep him through the day. Now, well, now he had barely nothing. He couldn't even rent a room because he had no city ID. Finally, he found a small walk way in between two buildings. He walked down it, inspecting it. He came to the conclusion that it was perfect for him. He walked a little ways down, then slid down the wall. It was relatively silent in the small space. He let his eyelids fall, closing his eyes slowly. A few moments passed and he felt himself drifting away. He would've fallen alseep if it weren't for some loud mouth fellow yelling down the path way.

"Hey, are you seriously sleeping here?"

Stein didn't react immediately, in fact, he felt quite annoyed by the whoever the voice belonged to. The sound of it was mellow, almost calming, but still, something about it irritated Stein. A sigh escaped through his mouth as he opened his eyes and turned his head in the direction the voice had come from. He fought with himself to keep his composure as he watched the man walk towards him. It was him, the one that rescued him. He was so close that Stein had no time to escape. Even if he did, there was no where to go, the path way had only one opening.

The redhaired guy slowed to stop when he was only a few inches away from Stein. He then crouched down to meet Stein's level. His peircing blue eyes met Stein's dull green ones.

"Hey, did you hear me?" he questioned.

Stein couldn't speak, he just stared.

"Come on, say something. Can't you talk?"

Spirit reached his hand out to touch Stein's shoulder, but Stein slapped it away. A scowl slipped onto his face. He watched the man's expression go from concerned to shocked. He didn't like that expression, so he turned his head forward and dropped his eyes to the ground.
