Virgil's POV

I took a deep breath, letting the frigid air stab at my lungs as the winter wind dashed and swirled around me. I pulled my hoodie sleeves up to my palms as my warm breath leaves my lips and flow out like smoke into the winter air. The rushing, bustling sound of running water of a nearby stream that flows into the shining lake, reflecting the eerie glow of the glowing moon that hung up in the midnight sky, dazzling brightly against the faint twinkle of far off stars. I looked at the ground, tens of feet away from where I stand. I felt as if I was floating out on my personal balcony. The dancing bodies shadows dance on the ground along with the light beaming from the main ballroom. I sigh as I curse the pit of fear that grew in my stomach when I thought of going to the party. The people are already drunk anyway, I bet. It's too late in the night for them not to be half-seas over.

The door creaks open behind me.

I do not dare look at who came for me.

"V-Virgil?" I heard a drunk Patton say behind me. I groan and turn away from the view of the kingdom and to Patton who held a champagne flute in his left hand and his right hand waving in the air.

"Patton! You're drunk to all get out!" I exclaim as Patton falls onto me, his soft skin landing on my chest, making me unstable as I held onto the railing and Patton's head. He smiles up to me dorkily as his free hand ruffles my hair. I groan as he leans on the railing and nearly drops the champagne flute. He stares out at the sky as I lean on the railing, my gaze focused on Patton.

"Why aren't you at the Party?" Patton asked with a slur on his lips. I sigh and run my fingers through my hair. The honest truth is that Roman had to invite Remus, and Remus brought Deceit, and I don't think I'll last if I met my ex's eyes again. I might fall for him again. I don't want to.

"I felt sick." I lied. Patton gasped and the back of his hand slapped my forehead,

"Is my baby boy sick?" Patton asked. I felt myself melt a bit with the nickname.

"N-no Patton, I'm fine." I lie, "I feel better now." I lie again. How many times am I going to lie to Patton?

"Then come party with me! Roman is dancing his butt off and Logan is slurring his facts! It's super fun~" Patton says, grabbing my wrist. I stay planted on my feet as Patton almost fell trying to drag me. He dropped the champagne flute, the gold and glass shattering against the concrete balcony, but Patton didn't notice.

"C'mon baby boy! It'll be fun." I felt myself melt again at the nickname. I pulled my hand away and Patton stumbled and landed on my chest. My face heated up as Patton smiled up at me.

"W-why do you call me that?" I ask. Patton smiles again.

"What? Does it make you flustered, baby boy?" I blush and look away. Patton roughly grabs my chin and pulls my face towards him. I melt into the kiss. Patton sits on the railing and I stand between his legs as I pull back for air.

"W-why'd you do that?" I  choke out. Patton smiles.

"To tell you how I feel." He says. In a split second, his slur leaves his lips and his back straightens up. Did I just witness Patton sober up in a second?

"Virgil, I've been hiding a lot from you. As the oldest side, I'll be the one to lead once the King dethrones. I know the kingdom will hate it but... I want you to be my queen. Not just a friend..." his voice trails off. I smile and pull him into a kiss. He kisses back until we pull away for air.

"I'll be your queen." I smile. Patton grabs my arm and drags me to the party.

I end up having a good time. Patton drunkenly danced up on me as I chug champagne to match the drunkenness of the others. I learn a few new things from Logan's drunken information sprees until Roman shuts him up with a kiss. I see Deceit, but he doesn't scare me. I actually became friends with him.

But, god, the hangover in the morning was the worst.

And there you go.

Im sorry it was short but I needed to put something out

I love you all my perfect potatoes

Peace out!
