Hey!

Im lazy.

Well... thats not shocking..

But here's another chapter i wrote for a different book

because im too lazy to write

Enjoy!

The sun was streaming in the window as I sat in bed, scrolling through Instagram, trying to make time pass before I had to move. My hair purple-fading was a mess of a mop on my head, the bags under my eyes were a mixture of my lack of sleep and past makeup I've been too lazy to remove and the bruises that won't go away, and my clothes were oversized and sagging off my body.

Now, for an explanation, I prefer to be mute to strangers and friends. I only talk if I am truly close to them. I know sign language but sometimes I just have to spell out word for word or write it down. Anyway, I had to use all my might to get out of bed, and simply walk out to the kitchen. I was grabbing a bowl from the cabinet when my little sister came running out of her room.

"Good morning Virgil!" She exclaimed, raising her arms out in the air. I sighed and turned towards her, placing the bowl on the counter and resting my elbow on the cold top.

"G' morning, Lilly. What's got you so... cheerful?" I asked. she giggled, responding,

"It's my last day with you and I want it to be happy and fun! Not filled with the anger issues of dad or the issues of mom. Just us before you go and live alone." I grabbed the box of off-brand cereal from the pantry.

"Oh, I'm not living alone, I'm renting it out with 3 other roommates." I rolled my eyes, not really excited about the new roommate's thing. I'd prefer my time alone, but with trying to escape from them and police... having others with me might just be the best choice.

"Others? Do you know them? Do they know-" I cut her off.

"No, I don't know them, and no, they don't know. They don't need to know." I say, pouring the cereal and milk into a bowl and grabbing a spoon. Lilly climbs up on one of our barstools and watched me take a bite of cereal.

"Are you excited, at least?" She asked.

"Excited as in- ready to move so I can go off the radar for a bit." I sigh, running a hand through my tangled curls. She glanced down at her hands as I take another bite of cereal.

"It sucks you have to move away because of that." She mumbles. I walk up and lean next to her.

"It's not only that. It's also that I'm an adult and need to grow up." I chuckle, ruffling her hair. She huffs as I walk back to my cereal.

"Adult is just a phase." she huffs again.

"So was your Beiber phase but that never went away." I winked at her. She rolled her eyes.

"No need to bring that up, you're still caught in your emo phase." She smirks. I chuckle.

"It's a lifestyle, not a phase," I reply.

"Then so is my Beiber phase!" She huffs, crossing her arms.

"You called it a phase yourself. You'll get over him eventually." I say, taking another bite of cereal.

"Oh please, tell that to me when I'm sleeping with his body pillow at age 70." She replies.

"You are a freak," I reply. She rolls her eyes.
