Dealing with a lot with the virus,
so here's a story I wrote on a broken laptop
and too much time on my hands with everything closed down.
"I just think you don't understand." Virgil huffed, crossing his arms and sticking his tongue out.
"Don't understand what? Try me." Deceit snapped back, hissing slightly and waving his slit tongue out in the air for a second. Whenever Deceit sticks his tongue out it makes Virgil fluster, turning the pale boy from milky white to red as cherries. So here he was, gripping onto the end of his sleeves, desperately trying to grasp onto the last bit of confidence he had as a threatening yet loving Deceit towered over him.
They were standing in Deceit's room, a cold room that nipped at the tips of their skin. The air lingered of salty sweat and sweet candy, which Virgil didn't know where either of the two came from. The carpet was soft under Virgil's cold toes, rubbing his feet softly. Deceit's pet snake, Fang, slithered around on Deceit, sliding all over his shoulder and head, knocking off Deceit's hat and tangling his floofed hair. Virgil's pet spider, Darkling, sat still on Virgil's shoulder, the small hairs of the spider tingling Virgil's skin. Virgil and Deceit made harsh eye contact, not blinking or looking away, just simply making harsh eye contact. The boys were currently arguing- silently arguing- and neither one of them plan on backing down.
"At least my pet doesn't try to suffocate me." Virgil snapped, crossing his arms and huffing heavily. Deceit hissed, rolling his eyes and resting his gloved hands on his hips.
"My pet doesn't terrify someone else." Deceit muttered, looking away.
"Just because Patton is afraid of Darkling doesn't make your 'nope rope' any better." Virgil groaned. Deceit tensed his face in a warning.
"You did not just call Fang a 'nope rope'. Your 'creepy-crawly death dealer' isn't better." Deceit crossed his arms, Fang spiraling down Deceit's left arm.
"You just haven't had to take care of a spider before." Virgil snapped, pursing his lips and leaning slightly towards Deceit.
"You haven't taken care of a snake, either." Deceit replied, leaning towards Virgil. The two's faces were inches apart, but both the lying and anxious trait kept eye contact with the other.
"How about this, I take Darkling, you take Fang for a day and we see just how better the other is. The twist is- we can't see or interact with each other until one of us admits defeat." Deceit said, backing up. Virgil looked down to consider it.
"Fine."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Virgil sat on his bed, with Fang slithering around on his lap. The feeling of the snake sliding around on Virgil's legs made his skin crawl, but he let fang slide around on his lap.
-Meanwhile-
Deceit sat on his bed as well. He and Darkling looked at each other, not blinking and not looking away. The room was dead quiet, no one moving a single inch. Deceit sighed defeatedly, still preferring a snake over a silent, non-moving spider.
-Virgil's POV-
Fang started to slide up my chest, bunching up my shirt and sending wave after wave of shivers down my spine. I was only trying to scroll through Tumblr, not get slowly suffocated by a snake. Fang started hissing in my ear, making my heart sink softly at the thought of Deceit.
-Deceit's POV-
I sat with Darkling in my gloved palms, crawling around my hand slightly. The spider had a silence that Virgil always gave me. Even if he stayed silent, Virgil always cared and worried for me, something I cherished a lot.
Darkling started crawling up my arm, his hairy legs slowly creeping up my appendage. I smiled weakly down to him, watching my boyfriend's cherished pet sit down on my shoulder.
"You sure do love sitting on a shoulder, don't you?"
-Virgil's POV-
I couldn't help it. I started crying. I wanted Deceit right here with me, beside me, holding me as Fang slithers over us and Darkling sits on my shoulder. I miss and need him. Tears streaked my face and Fang licked them up.
"I miss him, Fang, but I refuse to lose." I wiped away a streak of salty liquid and smiled as Fang snuggled around my neck.
-Deceit's POV-
My heart was heavy in my chest. The smell of Virgil lingered harshly on Darkling, making me miss my boyfriend even more. He's probably in his room, cuddling up into bed and scrolling through Tumblr, not knowing the fact that I miss him. I'd consider defeat but Virgil wants competition and I don't want to let my baby down.
"Darkling, do you miss him? I miss Virge too."
-Virgil's POV-
The tears keep streaming down, I can't stop them. I miss Deceit so much- it hasn't been half a day. I need him. I want him.
"Fang, go get Deceit, please. Tell him I need him. I admit defeat."
Fang somehow understood, slithering off my bed and under the door to Deceit. I cuddled into a pillow and stared at the door for my boyfriend.
-Deceit's POV-
Fang slithered in under my door and slipped around my leg. Darkling hopped off my hands and started creeping towards the door.
"Virgil wants me?" I wondered, getting off the bed and following Darkling.
-Third Person-
Deceit followed Darkling to Virgil's dark purple door, crawling under the door and into his room. Deceit turned the knob and entered, being met with a heavily sobbing Virgil. Deceit went straight to Virgil's side, rubbing a gloved hand across Virgil's back in comfort. Virgil sobbed into Deceit's chest.
"I'm sorry! I missed you so much Deceit, I was wrong..." Virgil choked out, tears soaking Deceit's chest. Deceit smiled and kissed Virgil's head.
"I'm sorry, this was a stupid challenge and I know you can't last long without me. I'm sorry too." Deceit whispered.
The two sat on Virgil's bed in the same position for the rest of the day.
Sorry if this was bad
I tried.
Goodbye, my perfect potatoes.
