There's really no way to start this except
this is why I've been gone.
Yes, this chapter is based on what happened.
Also- if the characters don't fully match the actual Sander Sides, it's because I'm trying to blend my "friends" in with the characters.
I'm sorry
Virgil is Trans
also don't question why Virgil is in the male's locker room when he was newly trans just think the school is accepting (when mine isn't but yeah)
TW: Slight mentioning of Self Harm,

Third POV
Virgil had that core group of friends. The friends he knew he could turn to when he needed them. The friends he had fights with but always made up with them one way or another. The friends that knew almost everything about him. The friends that didn't care who or what Virgil was, but still loved him.
Or so he thought.
Basically-
There was Roman, Patton, Logan, and Thomas.
The core friends.
Roman was the loving one of the group, even if he didn't like to show it. He mutually loved Virgil with all his heart, even if Virgil got mad and fussed at him all the time. No matter how many times Roman and Virgil fought, the two loved each other fully. Roman and Patton were in a serious relationship at the time, and even if it hurt Virgil to see Patton with Roman, he still sucked it up and supported them. Sometimes
Patton was the child of the group. As a little, the friend group loved to care for him, even if Roman didn't like it. Patton had a heart worth more than gold and no one would want to lose that. Patton was purely wholesome and pure...sometimes.
Thomas and Virgil had only been friends for a few years. They seemed really close, and dated a few times. Sadly, it didn't work out, but it didn't bother the two. Thomas was an attention-sneaker and relied on others for help. He was funny and a good person... sometimes.
Then there was Logan. The hot-head of the group, yet seemed loved by all. Coming from a rough past, he struggles with massive trust issues, and takes his anger out on others. He can honestly be annoying and a bad person, but the others seemed to love him no matter what...Sometimes.
Virgil had struggled with gender identity for a long while now. He went from Gender fluid, to Non-Binary, to finally settling with Trans. His friends supported him fully, at least Patton and Roman did, and the others shrugged it off. Logan struggled with misgendering Virgil and not correcting himself. (Like seriously people, ITS NOT THAT HARD IT HURTS WHEN YOU DO IT ON PURPOSE OR DONT CARE!!!) Virgil always shrugged it off, not wanting to lose Logan even if it hurt to the point of... other things. Virgil loved Logan with his full heart, and couldn't bare to lose him.
"Virgil, you have to tell him." Roman commanded. Virgil sat in the corner of the locker room after PE, sweat still sticking his faded hair to his forehead. Logan and Thomas stood on the other side of the room, talking and laughing as Virgil's eyes traced their faces.
Virgil had only recently accepted the fact that he is trans, and has been nervous about coming out to the people who didn't respect him while being non-binary.
"I-i can't. Not with Thomas around." Virgil muttered. Thomas had been acting weird around Virgil days earlier, by not speaking and making weird noises and faces, confusing and angering Virgil. Virgil was starting to dis-trust Thomas but couldn't stand fully losing him.
"Awe c'mon it wont be that bad." Roman pulled Virgil up on his feet and called over the others. Logan dashed over, but Thomas stayed back a bit.
"Go on, Virgil tell them." Roman gestured at the others. Virgil felt fear swell in his throat.
"I- uh- not with him around." Virgil nodded to Thomas. Thomas had never been respectful to Virgil and Virgil didn't want him to know. Roman blinked.
"Go on, tell them your secret." Roman ushered.
"Fine, I'm trans..." Virgil came out. Logan just blinked while Thomas snickered.
"Yeah, we figured." Logan said, adjusting his glasses.
"Yeah, great secret." Thomas said, laughing along with Logan. The tone in Thomas' voice got to Virgil quickly, then Virgil dashed out the room.

~Time Skip to The Next Day~
Virgil had seen Thomas and Logan around school. The two didn't dare look or talk to Virgil, and Virgil got suspicious.
It wasn't until later in the day he found out what was wrong.
Virgil's school held two free periods, so there Virgil was, getting abandoned by his friends.
Now, Virgil had started catching feelings for Deceit and was dying to ask him out.
So, Patton was urging Virgil to do it, while Logan kept giving Virgil dirty looks.
Deceit came strolling up.
"Virgil, do it!" Patton squealed. Virgil awkwardly looked at Deceit.
"Do it!" Patton exclaimed again.
"Fine! doyouwanttogooutwithme?" Virgil stuttered out.
Deceit had caught feelings as well (it's a long story,)
So he said,
"Yes!"
Logan and Thomas walked off.
A few minutes later, Logan and Thomas come up to Virgil.
"How could you?" Logan asked. Virgil turned and smiled, wrapping an arm around Deceit's shoulders.
"What-?"
"you said you hated friend group dating, and look what you're doing."
"Deceit's not in the friend group-"
"That's so hypocritical." Logan snapped.
"I-"
"We know you aren't trans, we aren't stupid." Logan snickered.
Virgil shut his lips, feeling the familiar burning of tears in his eyes.
Logan and Thomas left.
Virgil rushed away from Deceit and curled up in a corner.
Deceit tried to comfort Virgil throughout the free time, but Virgil still cried on the inside.
"Y'know what, If someone is going to make me break down as soon as I get home, they aren't worth it."
