After the removal of her second skin she dove underneath the blankets and fell asleep, Ezreal watched her lost in dreamland, catching every movement in her state of sleep. Never had he seen a girl to happy, yet serene. With the glistening star dug in his pocket he spared five more minutes to make sure she would not wake when he would be gone to see what the others wanted of him this time, not like they were not used to him being late or avoiding every single gathering they had. He could remember the day as if it were yesterday and he regret ever seeing her.
Crossing the vastayan forest he looked broad and far for a sign of pillars, sign of some kind of ancient life. He knew that being on vastayan ground would cost his head if he were found, since humans were not taken kindly any more after Ionia had broadened it's civility. Pushing back vines and branches, the reflection of the moonlight onto the water drops almost blinded him and just when he thought he were following the right path he stumbled upon a lake. The reflection of the moon was right midsts of it, still water almost lured him in to drink, but he learned from his lesson when he drank out of an oasis in Shurima and found out it was just an image caused by his drought and spit sand for almost three days.
'Yeah, I have no idea what you're going to do to me, but I don't want no angry fish man to chase me.' He finger gunned at the waters and folded his hands behind his head to walk off, when he heard a sound coming from the bushes. Frowning he snook up to the other side of the lake, the tension of his shadow darkening ground before it he felt like he were in one of those plays where a wolf would jump out and rip his throat into pieces, but that never stopped his curiosity, so he walked closer until another rustle sounded and a little star shaped locket fell out of it. He covered his eyes when the moonlight hit the stone right past him and lit the diamond rock. Colours and shades of pink shone from the interaction, intrigued by the small artefact he bent down to pick it up, expecting it to be heavy by the looks of the amount of carats, he was surprised to figure out it was almost weightless. Holding what weighed just as much as a small, petite feather that belonged to that of a new born robin. Staring wide eyed at the object he wondered what fortune it held, from what era it was, he had never seen a diamond alike to it and he had been to a lot of markets and visited many tombs that were decorated with stones alike, but less value to this.
With a quick look around the area he closed his fist around the jewel, putting it in his pocket. Acting like nothing odd had happened he was out to resume his search for the pillars, when out of nowhere-
'Hey, get back here!' Ezreal shrieked at the sound of a woman yelling behind him. Slowly turning around he looked into golden eyes, slit as thin as a cat. Noticeably angry she reached out her hand, waiting for him to hand the jewel over. He raised the corner of his mouth and observed the lady carefully, striped like the ancient vastayan tribes were drawn on her cheeks, small fox like ears tweaked from out her darkened hair, braided with fortune perhaps even more valuable than he held. Her outfit was traditionally hand made by Ionians, which made him think that she might not be as close to the vastayan as she seemed with her weird features.
'I have no idea what you're talking about lady, I found it fair and square and besides,' He held the diamond up and compared it to the fox lady. 'This thing does not look like it belongs with the rest of your outfit. Nice try trying to steal it from me.'
The woman clenched her fist and warned him one more time, this time a curtain of tails unfolded right behind her, he had not even noticed that she had one, let alone nine of them. Oh crap, he thought to himself taking a step back. 'Lady, I told you, I-'
'I'm giving you three more second to make the right choice or you'll pay for that,' She broke off her sentence when it looked like she were going to say more, her tail sinking as she smiled faintly, blinking quickly with her eyes. Her golden eyes slowly turned as pink as the diamond and Ezreal soon realised what she was trying to do and quickly ran away from her as fast as he could. Jumping over a root that grown it's way out of the ground he almost stumbled if he had not warped a distance ahead of him, hearing tiny leaves crack under the pressure of her steps, chasing after him. 'Give me back my ribbon!' She yelled.
Ezreal chuckled and did not think she could be any faster than him when he had the ability to teleport to various places as long as it were in his visible sight range. Brushing a strand of hair behind his ear he laughed enjoyable at the sound of her gasping for air, only then to be almost struck with a blue orb that passed right past him. Almost startled of the sight he looked over his shoulder to see that she closed her fingers into a fist which summoned the orb back at her command. Ezreal leaped from another root and teleported into the bushes to run a non beaten path. 'Shit, shit shit!' He yelled, realising that he had pissed off the wrong woman of the forest.
'You're not getting away!' The same orb was thrown at him again and this time hit his arm, but to his surprise he noticed that it went right through him. When it were called back it passed through him like a ghost once more and he wondered what it could have possibly done that she threw it at him. Feeling a cold shiver going through his fingers he tried to ignore the slight pain and imagined it was just his mind playing trick with him and turned left into another wild direction. The beating of his heart almost squishing his throat he held onto a branch that he spotted ahead of him and pulled onto it in his chase, releasing at it's maximum durability. An expression of pain that went out for the girl when a high pitched scream brought silence to the forest, though he was supposed to feel some kind of pity for her, he knew that if she got her hands on him she would kill him on the spot and no way would he allow her to do that. Jumping onto rocks that made a path crossing a river he warped up into a tree, still chased by the same woman. Her face was flushed red and not because she had to run for miles, the stamp of the branch exclaimed on her forehead said plenty. Strands of raven black hair stood in every direction, her fists balled tightly as her pupils were almost the size of a toothpick, probably bigger he said as he stared into them to measure it's width.
'I've never met a guy as annoying as you, give back my charm!' She no longer had patience to shout, instead her request came out as a high pitched scream.
Ezreal frowned his forehead, fishing the star shaped charm out of his pocket, observing it between his fingers. 'I think I'll keep it, people will probably get a weird idea from it but I might even wear it as a necklace. How well do you think the pink of this charm will match with my hair.' He said jokingly, making fun of her as she were looking up to him. 'I forgot foxes can't climb a tree, how unfair it must be for you to have taken away your only advantage.' Another one of his chuckles filled the silent forest.
'I've had it with you,' Even from the distance put between them, she still managed to get some fear into him while her teeth were clenched onto another. 'First you steal my charm, make me chase you all the way through all of Fae'lor and then hit a branch in my face. You pest-y piece of-'
'Woah, woah, no need to be foul, who knows who's watching us. You certainly don't want to have a bad reputation for your other fox friends.' He enticed her even more and leaned against the tree. 'Or don't you have any?'
The lady had it, never had she been disrespected as much as he did as of right now. She was known all over Ionia as the most beautiful woman to inhabit both animal and human features and she did not deserve this. Her golden eyes turned slowly blue and her tails unfolded again, each holding a smaller version of the orb. Ezreal stood away from the tree when the lady set herself off from the tree and dashed into the air, each tail that threw an orb at the adventurer. He quickly recovered from the shock and leaped from the tree to fall on the ground, but that did not stop her and the chase resumed, but shorter than he had hoped when she dashed right before his vision. Her pupils returned into their original state and the golden tones fused with the blossom pink shades, charming him at his spot. Feeling his heartbeat slow down from the chase he fell defenceless at her feet, his fingers trembling over the charm to hand it over to her. No matter how angry she seemed or were, the sight of any man falling at her feet was an image purifying her rage and she sent one of her tails to cup his chin, repeating the same sentence.
'I've never met a guy as annoying as you and perhaps...' Lifting her knee to push him down onto the ground she rested her foot on his chest, looking down upon his defenceless state. 'It will be of great use to battle, I need to make up for my losses and you seem perfectly fit.' The last words rolled off her tongue like a cat purring at the affection it got from it's master.
'Don't be too much of a pain, will you?'
Ezreal woke from the memory and felt another shiver running over his spine, since that encounter he still had not forgiven her and he showed that clearly whenever she summoned him for another meeting. He never wanted to become a part of the star guardians, he only stood when he found out Lux was a part of it, my what a lovely surprise it had been when they unlocked eyes. It was true that she disliked him right there, he believed it was because he were new and he tried his best to get on her side, it had not been successful yet, but she stopped asking him to leave her alone.
He gave one more look to Kai'Sa who had her back turned to him now, the blankets slowly sliding off and exposing her marked shoulder blades. Her canons were not a part of her and had nested itself into her bone structure, reckon it had broken off when the rest withdrew and her body was still healing from it's process. Slowly sliding out of his chair he pulled the blankets over her shoulders, hoping that maybe anyone at the gathering would have spare clothes for her to borrow. With a last glance on her he walked out of the dorm, watching over the sea as the boat was still sailing over the waters to get to it's destination. Tomorrow afternoon he would finally be home, he would have to show her around and introduce her to a new city. The waters called for him as the corals underneath lit like the stars in the galaxy, fuming in colours of blue to fire him off to the others. Tapping onto the edge of the boat he jumped over it and landed on his feet on the surface. As if walking on the steady ground he set a few steps ahead of him, the glistening of starlight at his disposal. He hated the whole ritual of getting dressed just to be summoned into a lame meeting, a waste of time.
'Now, how did Ahri do this again?' Reaching out into his memory to call back every time she taught him and Soraka how to transform into their gear.
