'Everyone ready?'
A group of eight had gathered aligned to another, with Ahri at the front collecting everyone's energy, everyone she had chosen to become a part of her team and those we were already before they joined her. The ocean were the mirror of the galaxy, it's vast colours to be said reflected onto the skies to blind mortals from their greatest, most scared fear. The more energy she collected, the more the galaxy revealed itself from the spot they stood, their personality traits shining in their chosen colours. While everyone had their eyes out for the sky or their leader, Ezreal still looked over his shoulder where the boat had left the docks. She would be fine, he thought to himself, after this whole rescue mission he would go to Shurima again to scavenge the tunnels of the void. The thought of treasure sunken and buried underground sparked a smile on his face, a whole underground world where new items awaited him and this time he would not be alone.
Ahri summoned the star platforms underneath everyone's feet, scattered their energy all a crossed them. The mist collected around them, to hide their appearance from the naked eye, their second identity had to be kept secret. As what seemed like a thunder cloud, reality contained the saviours of the galaxy. With one more twirl Ahri launched everyone in the sky, following shortly after. One thing remained the same, though we were all connected to one another, when Ahri, Xayah, Rakan and Neeko were bonded in blood, the vastayan blood, they all circled around one another, because no human were alike from their appearance, when Vastaya held what connected every root with another. Just like Ezreal did Xayah not put too much of a show like the others did, but did she instantly embraced the change of her attire. Their eyes locked when they got a hold of each other, even in times like these could no one hate the other and did they give each other a confirming nod, flying ahead of the others.
'What did you guys find out about the lost ones?' Ezreal asked, seeing Rakan's light fly closer towards Xayah's.
'Neeko found more remnants of one of the lost guardians, she said that everything ended with Zoe and if they were not with us, it means that she is somewhere we can't reach them.'
A frown troubled Ezreal's forehead and he looked ahead of him to see the ocean spread out, the mountains becoming smaller the higher they flew. 'So what did you guys conclude?'
Soraka's light had appeared right beside him, her wings unfolded from her back she used them to guide her through the air. 'If they aren't in sight, they are in mind.'
'And everyone knows how mentally troubled Zoe's mind is.' Xayah sighed and finally Ezreal had an idea of what they meant.
'They're in her pocket dimension?' Soraka and Xayah nodded out of confirmation and all of a sudden this rescue mission felt impossible to win. 'How are we ever going to get her to open her pocket dimension. "Hey Zoe, mind if we take a peek? it will only be for a few minutes, don't worry!"'
Rakan chuckled at his joke but quickly got silenced down when Syndra flew past them, multi, her energy spheres that circled around her. 'I can open her pocket dimension.'
Ahri now took the lead of the flight, her hand entangled with that of Neeko to keep her on track with the others. If there were anyone more curious than Ezreal, it would have been Neeko. Since her return they had to cancel out a lot of missions because she wandered off to look around planets, fly down to pluck a flower or followed a pack of wild beasts. Whatever there were in sight that Neeko did not know, she would fly after. 'Enough chit chat,' Flying closer into the tower vested on mount Targon they already caught vision of the other lights. Ezreal's heart leapt into his chest when he saw her pink light, she was finally here. After various missions not seeing her, he wondered if she had secretly been missing him too. 'We'll talk when Zoe's mystery team has reunited.'
Ahri's team had reached the tower, landing on the stone platform everyone drew their light aside and appeared in their gear. While Lux was trying to keep Poppy and Jinx from fighting each other, Syndra again mumbled how their team lacked the discipline they needed.
'Everyone is here.' Lux said breathless, amazed by the presence of all the other guardians. She wondered if they were the only generations, if Zoe had found everyone else and consumed their light. Though her mind should not get troubled so soon, the disagreement between Jinx and Poppy rested the moment Ahri had entered the building. Lux often wondered why she were chosen to be the first star, when there were many others being better at the job of being a leader, even when Ahri lost her team she managed to win them back, though Xayah and Rakan had been a whole different story where they all had to invade Zoe to restore them. Her staff wiggled nervously in her hands and she knew she had to compose herself, straitening her posture she waved kindly towards Ahri. 'I'm happy everyone could make it tonight. Let's discuss our plan.'
The nine tailed fox tapped her finger on her arm, surprised that for once Lux was not as afraid to make out the plans. Her heels clicked against the ground and she inspected every member of her team, from the small, cryptic Lulu, the chaotic and rebellious Jinx, the brave Poppy and-
'Janna, would you like to stand right beside Syndra, Please?'
The lavender geared guardian exchanged looks with the sovereign, with a quick sigh she walked towards her, there was nothing she could bring in, from everyone out their team, she was the one who always gave in to any command. Taking her stand next to Syndra, Ahri told her team to stand next to Lux's before she gave her a gesture to take the lead once more.
'So,' Her high pitched voice would sound, scratching onto the handle of her staff she took the middle of the platform. 'There definitely have been some secrets among us, not that that is wrong!' She quickly assured the two ladies standing behind her. 'Everyone should have the right to keep their past a belonging of themselves, but if that secret is of crucial matter, we would like you to expose yourself to us.' Lux said as she pointed her staff towards Janna and Syndra. 'We just want to save the others, that is what our mission is.'
Xayah grunted loudly out of annoyance and she stepped in, taking the stand from Lux. 'Stop being afraid to step on anyone's toes, the more time we waste on being the best guy, we waste on the good guys.'
Lux crawled back in her shell, disappointed that not even a few minutes taking the lead on a gathering had already made her so nervous. Xayah had crossed her arms over another and gave Lux a patient look in her eyes. 'Go on, ask them.'
The first star gulped and tried to collect her strength again, her eyes looking more determined at the others. 'Neeko explained to us that your existence belongs to the first generation of guardians, what happened to your team?'
Syndra exchanged one more look with Janna before she spoke. 'It's true that we're the ones born first, each and everyone of us held the keys to protect the galaxy that was at our disposal. When more generations were born, they all had questioned us when they found out what we really were in our original forms. Zoe and I held great powers to both protect and destroy countries, with a look in the wrong directions we could annihilate the entire galaxy and every other planet. We wondered if that clouded the judgement of the first, original star.'
Janna rested her hand on Syndra's arm to take the speech over. 'When the first star appeared again, Zoe and Syndra were waiting for it to chose either of her, since both of them held the greatest power. Instead, it went to the youngest generation, who did not even have a team yet.'
Everyone's eyes looked at Lux, who now suddenly regret her place in the middle. 'Syndra and Zoe lost control, they looked out for revenge, dragging our entire time down. Before anything could get out of hand, Syndra realised the error in her way and fought Zoe to stop her, but she was stronger.' Syndra exhaled deeply and looked with a haze before her eyes to the ground, as if anything she tried to fight out was slowly coming back. Janna pinched her arm and gave her a gentle smile. 'Zoe trapped us in her maze, making sure that none of us would get out. Her wicked idea was to chose the right path, Syndra and I were lucky to know what the right path was to Zoe and did everything she would do in her current state and got out, but the rest...' Janna cupped her own cheek and felt a sting of pain piercing her chest, a shiver went over her spine, controlling herself for a last time she resumed. 'When we got out, we lost all memory of them. We had no idea who they were or even if they existed. We only started to remember them slowly when Ahri had called us to fight Zoe to retrieve her former team. Only then did we notice we were not complete.'
Even the smallest hint of whisper fell into silence, everyone had their fullest attention on the two guardians. A world where even a family like group that fought alongside each other could turn against each other.
Neeko walked on all fours towards Xayah and Lux, standing tall over them. 'Neeko senses leader of group is the one with the purest light.' Janna and Syndra were haunted by fears of their life's condition. 'If we do not find them by tonight, the weakest will lose her light and...' Neeko did not like the concept of death, she refused to believe in it after the loss of her tribe. She sworn to keep everyone in her team alive as they were now her tribe.
Ezreal walked in to chase away the darkness troubling their minds. 'Easy, we'll fly in, give out a nice light show and get them out of the pocket dimension,' Ezreal forgot about one special detail and turned towards his team. 'Where do we fly to?' Groans and sighs of disappointment filled the air and Ezreal chuckled.
Ahri now walked in to once again hold the attention. 'We will fly to the gravitating tower where we found the rest in the first place, it still holds onto Zoe's magic, Syndra can open the portal with her powers. The plan is to gather all of our powers to fly them out, only the ones that have wings are allowed, we're not sure if we can fly around with our magic and I'm not taking the risk to lose more people.' Ezreal looked at his gauntlet where the little head of Yuuto had stuck out, looking around curiously when he knew he were one to go down into the pocket dimension with Ezreal.
That would make Neeko, Xayah, Ezreal, Soraka, Jinx, but even the ones that can fly without magic needed: Syndra and Janna.
Poppy put down her hammer, her ears twitching almost to indicate that she were wondering what Ahri and the others would do. 'And what do we do? I hate to bother but I don't want to stand back and watch.'
Ahri's usual careless face now had the dooming glow of fear. 'It would be too easy to imagine that Zoe will just let us take back what she had imprisoned for years, maybe. So the rest and I will fight her.'
Xayah blinked nervously and walked towards Rakan. 'Promise me that no one will fall.' She said while embracing him tightly.
Lulu ticked her tiara and smiled happily. 'Don't worry Xayah, I will protect Rakan.'
The rebel turned towards the Yordle and pricked her finger in her direction. 'If anything happens to him, I will-' Her sentence was cut off when Rakan dragged her in for a kiss, none of the others that were certain if it was meant to silence her or if he were just as scared as her. Ezreal took advantage of the moment and looked in Lux's direction to wink at her, but the only reaction he got was her wrinkling her nose out of discomfort.

Kai'Sa had locked herself in her room, not wanting to see just yet how far she were from reaching Ixtal. In the hours she had been sailing most of her armour had grown back, perhaps stronger than before now that she was replenished of all sorts of energy and food. The most unbearable pain she suffered were the jets  growing out of her shoulder blades again, the cracking of bones and the needles of pain to infect her nerve system again. The skin grew thicker, became a part of her again. But despite all the pain she were enduring right now, as if the voidling were punishing her for letting go,  she refused to give into it, she refused to let it know that the pain was almost lethal to her. No matter what, no matter where, no one would bring her down until her ideals would become reality. She would rid this world of the void, even if it costed her own life. No one will fall prey to the void any more, no matter how unrealistic her goals were, she were satisfied by just being Shurima's guardian.
'They will need me,' She groaned to herself, her heart beating a fast tempo in her throat as her eyes looked around, disorientated. 'If they want to survive.' Falling down on her side, her fingers trembling to the cracking of bones and toxics that it pierced into her skin. Covering her face with her gloved hand she rubbed the drops of sweat away, shivering at every movement the voidling made.

'No child will have to live the same faith.'
