Kaisa was gone, a girl belonging to a fate that was never realised. She wandered the world with a different set of eyes, yet the same mind. When her fate was rewritten, her world was supposed to fade, but when her original form had rejected the light of the guardianship over the stars there was only one person more fitting that Kai'Sa. It had been a lone walk in the beginning as her team saw no potential in her, she had no suit that granted her any powers. A mortal with no attributes to their team. They often ignored her and cast their eyes aside at her arrival, only to realise that it was not the suit she wore that made her eligible to be a star guardian. It was her will and strength that made qualified her as one. Defeat was no answer, just another lesson to learn from her mistakes. She did not crawl back or succumb to her wounds, instead she fought until the better end. There was not a moment where she let the thoughts of her peers get to her, she worked hard to earn her way up. No one killed as precise as her, no one fought as hard as she did. Neither of them had the discipline to learn and grow stronger, they had the strength to do whatever they wanted, what made them slack even more. In moments where they had nothing left and were tired out from their mana pool, it was Kaisa who drove them back to safety and made them value every core of strength they had. Her teammates grew more fond of her and finally realised the power that was inside of her. She was always convinced that she had to possess something to be someone, but Ezreal made her believe otherwise. He knew that she had no powers, no phenomenal strengths and magic. He had laid eyes on the weapons she carried with her, instead she looked at her for who she were. An arcane mage that projected hextech magic, who had seen most of the world. Even though she was not the original, he still saw her in the same light as her original self. When her last breath was drawn, she could see his worrisome expression on his face, mixed with a bitter smile of pride. It was enough for her to believe that he could make it without her, that he had what it takes to take them on without the enhancement of his powers. The moment her body disappeared a sliver of her essence remained and scattered over the cold, stone set floors to breeze the stardust into the bodies of the others. She had managed to draw power into everyone, even the ones that weren't in her direct sight. With her last look on the world, she could catch a blue glow spreading over his body, among with Xayah and the presence of many others. For once she closed her eyes with a smile on her face, knowing that she would be remembered for someone who was worth the memory. A tear rolled over her cheek, accepting the death that crept onto her. It was time for the world to take it's original flow, without her interrupting it.
The sound of clashing and clicking came to an end once the light radiated from both guardians, it blinded Zoe enough to back away from either. Through her gloved fingers she stared in their directions, perplexed by the strength that shone from their wings. Ezreal and Xayah shared a quick glance and drew their weapons again, both that had a mischievous smile on their faces. The corrupt guardian stared in the direction of the explorer, her eyes that watered faintly when he squinted his eyes and charged his gauntlet. 'Cradle robber.' With those words he fired a mystic shot in her direction, warping near her as Xayah covered his fall when one of her squids crawled from behind the fallen boulders to pounce at him. Zoe shrieked when Ezreal hovered near her, the only one she were not able to harm as she had done to the others. It was one of the few advantages that he had compared to the others, which still surprised him. The trickster opened a pocket dimension for him to miss his aim and warp to the other side of the hall, his feet dragging over the floor as he tried to maintain his balance.
'Focus, you idiot,' Xayah's words cut through the abrupt silence that fell admits them, setting her paw on the ground she forced herself forward to fight Zoe close combat. It was mesmerizing from his point of view to watch the two fight. Every dagger that was tossed in her direction was warped off into another dimension, aiming for Ezreal's head whenever he tried to sneak up on to her. He held his breath and clenched his fists at the sight of Xayah grunting when one of her projectiles hit her in the guts, sending her off in to a corner to lay unconscious on the cold ground. Even with the powers they were granted with, there was no way for them to fight Zoe alone. She could easily wear of every shot and not even her little crush on him would convince her to stop fighting. There had to be something that he could do, something to save his entire team.
Zoe flew off to Xayah, her eyes squinted as the corner of her lips curled up in a devious smile. Clearly she was more than done with her behaviour and the fight she put up against the dark matter. He had to think fast or he would lose another teammate. The only advantage they had against Zoe was that they were with many more, she could not cage all of them at the same time. But where were they? Kaisa, Sarah and Soraka fought Xayah, while Rakan did not get corrupt. Then they must have-
His teeth sunk in his bottom lip and he threw a pebble in Zoe's direction. The small rock did not even make it to her skull and it had already dissolved. Her eye, each that had a different colour, looked at him in surprise to his attack. A smile brightened the young adventurer's face, enticing her to keep her focus solely on him. The small girl laughed hysterically, thought the faint blush on her cheeks were not to be missed. No matter how evil or wicked her mind had turned, emotions were never her strong suit. 'Ready to fall like your girlfriend?'
Ezreal winked teasingly, which had only taken her confidence in that single moment. 'She was hot, wasn't she?'
Zoe trembled and clenched her fist at the sight of his arrogance, purple rays of lights that shun through her fingers. 'You can do much better than a useless mortal.'
'Like who?'
'Like-' A stutter had taken her words for a brief second, forcing her to rethink her words. Intertwining her fingers she brushed a strand of hair out of her sight and bared her teeth to a smile. '-Me, it's inevitable. Your pack of guardians is going to fall and then you'll be mine.'
Ezreal was lost in thought, with his eyes looking at the roof of his eyes he perked his lips and raised both brows. 'I'm sorry, someone special is waiting for me-' Zoe gasped as Ezreal ran in her direction, just as he had hoped for she summoned another pocket dimension for him to fall in to. Instead of warping out like she intended to he saw multiple dimensions spreading before his eyes. The portal Syndra had summoned was one out of many and stretched out beneath the platform and just like that did he realise that none of her pocket dimensions had an end. They reached for multiple places, now he only had to manage to find the right one and get Ahri out of it. Behind him were the grunts of Zoe and Xayah who were quick to follow, as the rebel kept his passage safe and secure to venture down. He did not give Xayah much credit, since they did not have a deeper bond, but during moments like these he realised how much he needed the support of others to actually succeed his plans.
He swam through the dimension, with his wings sprouted and aided by Yuuto he crossed through the twinkling lights that reflected from each side. It was hard to tell how long he had been here, he even briefly feared that time in one of these dimensions were different than outside of the barriers. That fear was promptly chased away as the light of his pendant shone bright in the darkness of her pocket dimension. It was Ahri.
The reunion caused their powers to morph and grow stronger the closer they reached one another, making the hints of blue in his wings reach for his entire body. Ezreal swam deeper in to one of the gaping dimensions that were darker than the others, where he saw pink fingernails reaching out for the exit. She had been trapped in this dimension along with the others, because Rakan, Lux and Jinx hovered right behind her, combining their powers to give her the strength to guide them out. When their eyes met with the explorer smiles brightened their faces. 'Ahri!' The nine tailed fox gazed up the moment her name was called for, staring right in to the blue eyes of Ezreal. The corner of her lips curled up in a smile, her hand that reached out for his to help her out. Once their hands held on to one another the remnants of Kaisa spread over their arm, colliding from her tails and pouncing towards the other guardians that supported her. Just like Ezreal were their bodies cloaked in cosmic star dust, each in their own colours. A power stronger than their original guardian form. Though it was a sight so beautiful to see, there was little time left now that Xayah battled Zoe on her own.
'Where is Xayah?' Ahri did not even get the chance to speak as Rakan leaped forward and looked in his eyes to find an answer. Ezreal smiled and turned his head to the direction he swam from, his wings that grew in size at the numbers of his teammates.
'She broke free from the corruption again, but we have to get to her. I fear she won't win it on her own, Zoe is too strong,' He gasped for breath, now that he wondered if it was a good idea of him to be here for that long. Their powers were slowly running out and they had to make use of it now that they can. 'Can you fly on your own?' Rakan nodded, to him there was little to no time left when it came down to his girlfriend. Just like Xayah did he have the ability to summon his set of his wings. A gleam of blue light flickered behind him and summoned his set of wings, hints of pink and green that belonged to Xayah that rested in the tips. Ezreal watched after him as he went in to the direction the explorer had came from. Once the charmer had left their presence he turned his eyes to the other women, that looked at him with an overwhelming smile. Ahri was the first to catch him in an embrace, Lux who was quick to follow and Jinx who just rolled her eyes and summoned Shirou. 'I'm going to look for the other losers, you go ahead and have your little victory dance.'
Ahri giggled and flicked the tip of his nose to quickly follow after Jinx, though he knew she hated her behaviour, she was a strong asset to their entire team. Which left him with Lux, who was seemingly indecisive on what she had to do. There was not much he could bring in to clear her mind, there was nothing that tied them together any more. All of the romantic feelings he held for her had friendly intentions in the end and his mind only wandered of to Kai'Sa who waited for him. 'What's wrong?'
Lux looked away, just like the others her body was coated in pink stardust. She intertwined her fingers and took a deep breath, her body that leaned in to him to cross the distance that was left between them. But just before her face could reach his he turned his face away to catch her in an embrace instead. He only recently had his first date with Kai'Sa and admitted that he had feelings for her, he would not ruin it because Lux was still complicated about her feelings.
'I'm sorry.' She whispered softly against his shoulder. Her fingers that held on to his shoulder. Ezreal sighed and forced his lips to curl in a smile.'It's alright, let's get to the others.'
