A path as small as a thread had formed itself beneath the feet of the survivor, stars that were shaped in their true form, racing down as flaming rocks that showered down on the galaxy, with the same swiftness as water. The glistening of their purity almost blinded her along the path, venturing what felt like every corner the galaxy could have. Her breath got caught in her throat and drew out a gasp when four lights shone in bright colours in her direction. As if fear were no emotion or feeling, she reached out her hand to catch them from the air. Instead they danced around her, the fire that sparked from their being that burned her second skin as if it were mere paper. When all within her feared that it would nullify all of her chances to survive the void, it would instead liquefy the creature into a new suit. One that halted every form of impurity and being of true darkness, Kai'Sa stared into the depths of the galaxy as her second skin whirled around her like the wind, among with four more shadows that were imbued with the same power. Before she could even wonder who the others were, wind and gravity was struck back into her being, racing off into an explosion from a new born star. Rays of lavender, teal, blue, violet and ruby shone like a prism in the middle of them, each that held onto a characteristic that were divided in what they would represent.
A woman with hair that moved as water carried the burden of the group, one who was both responsible as gentle. With the flick of a finger the teal within the prism had left the gem and allowed it to be absorbed by her. Kai'Sa held her breath as the others had quickly followed her lead, she who could only stare as the tallest among them was assigned to lavender, the one who was just an inch smaller than her violet and the one who had the form of a child that absorbed the blue light. Before it was up for Kai'Sa to claim the ruby light, the blue starlight had stopped in it's tracks to observe the last one in their team. She was not sure if her darkened eyes took her in admiration or did not take her hesitation keenly, all that Kai'Sa wanted was to know what power the lights held. Being the only one who did not have to call for her light, the ruby had cast itself onto her, radiating every inch of her skin. The others had made it seem like it were effortless, that a light as pure and bright as the stars would only lift the worries and fears of one's being, instead it had stung her like a million needles.
As a group the teal representative stood in the middle of the ritual, her hand lifted in the skies to collect all of their colours and made them combust in to an explosion. All of them stood in wonder when their forms were finally revealed to the light, they were no longer a mystery to each other. With a single stare their names were whispered in Kai'Sa mind, sisters she were perhaps forever bonded with.
The teal guardian summoned a platform for them to take their form. Hair that was once blue, enriched with golden tips, now was as green as her colour. A bright smile, without a single hint of voice or sound whispered the name Sona. Gentle, affectionate, caring. The leader of her team. A star with violet flames crossed her, catching the attention of the daughter of the void. Snow white hair swirled around her before the darkness within her spheres were absorbed in it and coloured it in deep purple. Wise, powerful and enriched, Syndra.
All the colours stood aligned. From the playful, curious wonderer Zoe, to the silent, sightseer Janna. Kai'Sa did not transform like the others did, she did not bathe in the pure light of the stars and took a form that represented their character and purpose. The molten void hardened around her upper body, covering her vital parts with a softer texture, almost alike to clothing. Unlike the others she did not look like a girl of magic and femininity, a warrior that had just an edge of cuteness, more like a defender instead of a dresser.
She stared at her gloves hands, wondering what she did among them. There was nothing that could link her to become a defender of the cosmos, when Shurima was her only and most important calling. With a saddened expression that darkened her face she tried to cast the light away, hoping for her second skin to take it's original form again. 'I don't belong here.'
The fellow guardians stared in wonder at their sister. 'Why is that?' Syndra, the one with a deeper undertone in her voice, who Kai'Sa imagined someone to be that did seemed like she did not like to follow orders, but did so anyway because it served for good.
How could she summarize why she could not join them, why she had another destiny calling for her name than one she would have dreamed to be a part of. She could not be picky, her second skin gave her a second life and she swore to herself and the suit to not ever take it for granted. With the weight of the world and all her desires pressuring on her heart she looked up to each and every one of them, repelling the magic that had been given to her. 'I'm chained to the void, a calling to serve the stars is not mine to chase.'
Zoe's eyes had widened, a gasp that would have been inaudible if it were not for her enhanced senses provided by the suit. 'But Kaisa, you can't turn your back on the light. It chose you, this IS your destiny.'
A faint smile that had curled her twitching lips had formed itself to mask her sadness and grief, she had not even known them for that long and yet it already felt she was disbanding herself from what could have been her greatest family.
'I guess you will have to find someone who is more suited for the job.'
