Chapt 23 - Core

Indeed, Wei Ying had brought Lan Zhan there. However, Wen Qing, Wei Ying and Lan Zhan had disappeared again and Wen Qing's family did not know where they went.

It's been a week but they still could not be found. For a moment, Lan QiRen was afraid that Wei Ying would use demonic cultivation just to cure his Lan Zhan.

Lan XiChen assured him that Wei Ying would not and kept Jiang Cheng company. Jiang Cheng pretended he didn't care but always tried to listen for more information and sent out his own search party.

Lan XiChen and Jiang Cheng was about to leave Cloud Recesses for their daily search but instead, found a weak and pale Wei Ying near the entrance of Cloud Recesses.

They immediately brought Wei Ying in to find that he had a fever. Wei Ying had a simple cold but he only woke up after 2 days while shouting Lan Zhan's name.

XiChen and Jiang Cheng were beside him. "Wei WuXian, where did you go? Where is Hanguang Jun?" Jiang Cheng asked worried.

XiChen held his hand then turned to Wei Ying "Wei Gong Zi, how are you feeling?"

"I'm fine, I need to go" Wei Ying said as he clumsily climbed out of bed. "Go where?" Jiang Cheng frowned.

"To my Lan Zhan of course" Wei Ying said as he looked for something. "Wei WuXian, can you explain yourself clearer?"

"Jiang Cheng, I know what I am doing"

"But we don't! Do you know how worried everyone was? You just disappeared for one week! With Hanguang Jun who we don't know is dead or alive!"

Wei Ying then stopped what he was doing as black smoke started surrounding him "Jiang Cheng, I know you didn't mean that but don't you dare say that. Lan Zhan will live no matter what!"

For the past one week, Wei Ying had been staring, talking and taking care of his Lan Zhan. He hasn't been eating or sleeping much.

Watching his Lan Zhan not responding to him day after day, Wei Ying wasn't in a very good physical and mental state.

XiChen thought he needed to interfere "Brother in law, Jiang Cheng was just worried. Is WangJi alright? Where is he?"

"He is alright. Don't worry. I'll bring him back here safe and sound." Wei Ying replied as he rushed out with a few items.

Jiang Cheng wanted to chase after him but XiChen held him and shook his head. "Huan! Did you see how pale he is? Where does he even think he can go? What if he faints again or something?"

"Don't worry. I believe that he knows what he is doing. At least we know that he and WangJi is alright for now" XiChen said as he hugged Jiang Cheng.

Yanli who was also in Cloud Recesses immediately went to the kitchen after hearing Wei Ying woke up. Knowing that Hanguang Jun wasn't with him, she knew that Wei Ying would be leaving once he wakes.

"A-Xian" Yanli called out as she saw Wei Ying about to run out. "ShiJie" Wei Ying called out with a tear dripping from his eyes.

Seeing Yanli made Wei Ying feel like crying. He is so glad to be able to be close to his ShiJie. He also knew Yanli would comfort and support him no matter what.

Yanli patted Wei Ying's head and hugged him. Wei Ying sobbed for a little. He actually wasn't certain if Lan Zhan was alright or not. Was he in pain or not. Can he make it or not.

Wei Ying did need the little comfort from his ShiJie. After a short while Wei Ying released the hug and used his sleeve to wipe his tears. Yanli smiled and gave him a huge container "A-Xian, you must eat well. Leave some for Lan Er Gong Zi too, alright?"

"Mn!" Wei Ying said with a smile in between tears. "Thank you ShiJie, you're the best and I'm sure the soup is as delicious as always"

Yanli smiled and Wei Ying chuckled "If Lan Zhan saw this he would tell me not to get too close to you"

Yanli chuckled a little "A-Xian, you must be strong. Lan Er Gong Zi would want to wake up with you being as lively and healthy as ever right?"

Wei Ying put on a wider smile and nodded his head. "Thank you ShiJie, you're the best!" Wei Ying shouted while waving as he summoned SuiBian and rode off.

Wei Ying returned to BaoShan SanRen's residence. He had brought Lan Zhan here immediately after going to Wen Qing. Wei Ying wanted a core transfer and asked if it was possible with Lan Zhan's state.

BaoShan SanRen didn't like the idea of core transfer. It would greatly hurt the person giving the core and it might not always be a success.

BaoShan SanRen had set up a bath full of medicinal herbs. Wen Qing was so glad she followed them as it really expanded her medical knowledge.

BaoShan SanRen taught Wen Qing much more and Wen Qing decided to call her "Master". BaoShan SanRen smiled and accepted her as an outer disciple so she could visit her family when she wanted.

After all, she didn't have that many medical disciples and Wen Qing was a knowledgeable and gifted doctor.

Lan Zhan had to soak in the bath for 6 hours and after a 6 hours break he would have to be soaked again for another 6 hours.

His golden core's light had not fully diminished and BaoShan SanRen said that meant hope.

The golden core would glow brighter during the bath and would return to its half diminished state during the break. This would slowly help the golden core regain its light and get better.

Wei Ying wanted to soak Lan Zhan till he wakes up but BaoShan SanRen said without taking breaks the golden core would find it too much to handle and break.

That greatly scared Wei Ying who made sure that he kept track of 6 hours tightly. Wei Ying did not sleep much and spent all day and night talking to Lan Zhan, which BaoShan SanRen said would actually be helpful for Lan Zhan to hear his voice.

However, BaoShan SanRen didn't like that Wei Ying wasn't getting sleep and food. She and Wen Qing had used needles to make Wei Ying sleep but when Wei Ying woke up he was immediately guarded against them.

Wei Ying gave them the cold shoulder and said that only he can touch Lan Zhan, removing him from the bath and putting him in the bath.

This is the first time Wei Ying left Lan Zhan's side. He went to get WuJi and grab a few of Lan Zhan's favourite books and some new clothing.

BaoShan SanRen felt that WuJi might be helpful and she also wanted Wei Ying to get some air though she didn't tell him that.

Wei Ying rushed back as quickly as he could. The moment he saw Lan Zhan lying on the bed Wei Ying pounced on him. "Lan Zhan, I'm back. I'm sorry I took so long."

Wei Ying looked at Lan Zhan and stroke his hair then hugged him tight "Lan Er Ge Ge, quickly wake up. I won't scold you anymore for being reckless. I'll forgive you as long as you wake up and kiss me alright?"
