Chapt 24 - Silence

Only silence replied Wei Ying. Wei Ying let out a few sobs while in Lan Zhan's embrace. BaoShan SanRen looked at Wei Ying. At least he looked a little healthier than before he left.

Wei Ying fell asleep in Lan Zhan's arms and BaoShan SanRen placed WuJi beside their table, then left them alone.

Wei Ying woke up to pitch darkness. He wasn't afraid of the darkness anymore though it did make him feel lonely. He knew that there was infinite space around him.

"Wei Ying"

Wei Ying jumped as his eyes widened "Lan Zhan! Lan Zhan where are you? Lan Zhan!"

"Wei Ying, you can finally hear me?"

"I hear you Lan Zhan! I hear you! Where are you?" Wei Ying shouted back as tears rolled down his cheeks.

"Wei Ying, stop crying"

"I'll stop if you quickly wake up! You meanie! How dare you leave me alone for so long?!" Wei Ying shouted.

There was silence and Wei Ying fell to the ground "Lan Zhan, I miss you... Just wake up please"

"Wei Ying, I'm trying. I miss you too"

"Lan Zhan... hug me" Wei Ying said sobbing.

"I am hugging you"

Wei Ying squat as he hugged his legs "I can't feel anything... This is not a dream right? Lan Zhan..."

"It's not. Wei Ying, I love you. Wait for me"

Wei Ying was about to reply when he woke up in Lan Zhan's arms. He found Lan Zhan's shoulder stained with his tears.

"Lan Zhan!" Wei Ying shouted as he shook Lan Zhan but did not get any response. Wei Ying then looked around and was shocked to see BaoShan SanRen. "Did you talk to him?"

Wei Ying was surprised "Master, how did you know? It wasn't a dream?" BaoShan SanRen smiled "WuJi is one of the best spirital tools. You two have dripped your blood in it and formed a great connection. WuJi helped you go into Lan Zhan's mind."

Wei Ying was surprised and happy and babbled on "Really? Then Lan Zhan sounded alright! He didn't sound in pain"

BaoShan SanRen smiled. From that day Wei Ying would take naps more often to talk to Lan Zhan. But one day, WuJi didn't work.

Wei Ying woke up panicked and in a mess. He immediately ran to BaoShan SanRen. "Wei Ying, don't worry. WuJi can't work all the time. There's a limit to everything"

Wei Ying nodded and waited but his next few naps did not let him talk to Lan Zhan at all. Wei Ying was sad, frustrated and lost.

Wei Ying dressed Lan Zhan and laid him on the bed. "Lan Zhan, I won't forgive you if you keep making me wait"

There was silence. "Lan Zhan you said you love me but I don't believe you. You must prove it to me"

Silence again. "Lan Zhan..." Wei Ying called out sadly. Wei Ying continued talking and sobbed till he fell asleep.

BaoShan SanRen entered the room and sighed. She shifted Wei Ying a little from the floor to the bed and smiled when Wei Ying automatically cuddled against Lan Zhan.

BaoShan SanRen fed Lan Zhan a pill she spent 1 week making. She then stroked Wei Ying's hair and left them alone.

Wei Ying woke up crying. Once again, he did not get to talk to Lan Zhan. Wei Ying looked at Lan Zhan and buried himself in Lan Zhan's chest.

"Don't cry" Wei Ying immediately shot up. He saw Lan Zhan with his eyes open. Wei Ying cried harder. Even harder as he hugged Lan Zhan tightly.

He had so many things he wanted to say but they were all pushed back. All he wanted was Lan Zhan to be back. Talk to him, cuddle him, love and care for him.
