A little while later I left the bathroom and ignoring Chris and the others I carried on with my work, I tidied up the rollerskates, restocked the fridge with drinks and served a few customers. It wasn't long before It was time for my lunch break and even though trying to take my mind off Chris and our predicement by sorting our his sisters birthday party wasn't the best idea I was looking forward to getting outside.

I'd drove to work that morning knowing I had things to do in my lunch hour, In my car I quickly took off my work t-shirt and put on the black strappy top I had brought with me thankful no one was in the car park, I put the key in the ignition and opened the windows, they radio came on and I was already pulling out of the car park.

It wasn't too busy in town and I made it to the Jewellers in good time. Me and Chris had picked out a lovely heart pendent in white gold with Happy 16th Birthday Sophie inscribed on the back. I really hoped she liked it. I picked up the gift box for an extra £2 and then set off to the cake shop. Inside I gave the women at the till the brief me and Chris had agreed on. Three teirs, white with fushia pink ribbons and hearts (to tie in with our gift) and a big '16' in the same fushia pink to be the cake topper. I told her when we needed it by and she said because of the size free delievey was part of the service they offered if we wanted it, I thanked her and gave the address of the bowling alley - I had been so nervous about having to pick it up myself. Lastly I headed to the printers, me and Chris had been toying with the idea of doing the invites online but a few months before we'd been in town catching a film and some lunch when we saw a shop offering a 30% discount if you ordered that day, best off all even without the discount they were cheaper than the website we had been looking at. We had gone for a simple square white card with a pink fushia ribbon in the top left hand corner and an outline of a heart in the bottom right hand corner, the party information was set in the center also in fushia pink.

The door chimed as I walked in and I remembered how the last time I was in here it had scared me, I hadn't expected it.

"Hello, Im here to pick up an order for Jones." I told the lady at the desk.

"Oh yes, I remember you came in a month or so ago didnt you with a handsome young man?" the lady asked.

"Yes I did, you have a good memory." I told her.

"Oh I haven't unfortunatly we just arent getting as many customers as we used to," she sighed heavily and headed out back to collect my order.

She came out moments later carrying a rather large bundle.

"These really are lovely invites, you did very well desgining them." she told me handing them over.

"Thank you, lets hope the birthday girl likes them, i'm going to keep one back for her so she has a keepsake."

"Oh yes I remembered you saying it was a surprise." She laughed like she could just imagine how exciting it would be to have a party of over 30 of your friends and family sprung on you at such a young age.

I thanked her for her help and promised to be back if I ever need invites again.

Just before I got to the car I spotted a Greggs so I grabbed myself a sandwich and a gingerbread man and headed back to the bowling alley.

By the time I got back Chris and his firends, and lets not forgot his girlfriend had already left, I guess I was having mixed feelings as to wether or not it was a good thing because now rather than just worry about how he was thinking or feeling I was also worried about what he was doing with Tiffany in perticular.
