Saturday, finally-Remus invited me to his while Roman's out with Pat, who still doesn't know about any of this. I think it's for the best though he'd only worry, maybe leave it until after this blows over. Remus and I are laying on the ground staring up at the ceiling, he's rambling about something. "So...does cereal count as soup?"
"That's like saying 'is a hotdog a sandwich?; there's no winning."
"Not wrong, but I'm seriously confused about it."
"Maybe because you're a moron Dukey." I've started calling him that more often, I call Roman Princey and the twins are basically opposites at first site. So it was only appropriate that I give them contrasting nicknames to match. "When're you gonna ask Logan out anyways?" A light blush dusts his cheeks and he turns away from me.
"Don't be ridiculous Virgil...we both know he'll end up with Patton and I'll die alone." I roll my eyes, another thing the twins have in common, they're both hopeless romantics with fragile egos. "I mean how could he possibly like me Virgil? Be realistic."
"I am, I've known Logan for a while and with him you really have to expect the unexpected."
"We've only ever spoken like once."
"You can change that."
"Hey, since when are you the enthusiastic matchmaker?" He smiles, I don't really know how to answer. I'm just trying to keep myself busy until L and I figure something out.
"Since now, all I'm saying is you should talk to him."
"And I'm saying forget it." He sits up and I sit up to face him too.
"Okay okay, I'll drop it.... but you can't keep this up forever."
"I know..." He sighs.
"Cheer up Re, what was that thing from earlier about the cereal and the soup?" His face lights up again as he rambles on and eventually we're both dying of laughter on the floor about goldfish in condoms. Only I seemed to be slightly disturbed, I laugh until it hurts and it starts to remind me of how D and I were so close. I haven't seen him in a while, but he's probably gotten roped into this stupid hunt. Although I don't even know if it's a definite thing.
I walk home long before Ro gets back and listening to Re babble about L was kinda sweet. Talking to him always helps take my mind off things, but I know L will wanna talk about it sooner or later. He texted me yesterday about Roman and that Pat still has no clue about any of this-I didn't answer him though-I was nervous enough. He must've gotten the message because he hasn't asked about it since. I walk into the kitchen and slump in the dining room chair as I see dad approach me. He has this look on his face that screams 'I wanna invade your personal life' although I guess that's no different to any other day. My dad's always been very smothering and always checking on me and warning me, probably why I'm so paranoid about everything now. He walks silently over to the table and sits in front of me, i can almost hear him now. 'So Virge, where've you been all day?' He'd say, knowing full well I've been with Remus all afternoon.
"So Virge, where've you been all day?" He said finally, I groan at him inside my own head an simply reply.
"With Remus, where else?" I roll my eyes, immediately regretting it.
"Don't give me attitude Virgil." He scolds and I shrink a bit.
"Whatever." I grumble and head up to my room, I see him roll his eyes before I speed up the stairs.
I'm on my bed staring up at the ceiling, so much has happened and all I wanna do is sleep. Wake me when it's over-this moment in my room seems calm though-no movement-nothing...
Enjoying this calmness while it lasts, I force myself up to shut the curtains. I quickly get startled by what I see out the window.

Patton and I have been out for a while, leaving Remus to his own devices. We're heading to the mall in the back of his mother's car, like Patton she's also very sweet and is always offering to help others. We sat in the back seats just talking and I was hoping he wouldn't pick up on how little time Virgil and I had been spending together recently. However, Patton being Patton he's already dropping sudden hints about it. "Hey Ro, when was the last time you saw Virge?" He cocked an eyebrow at me.
"Uh not too long ago, why?"
Q"Just weird that you two haven't hung out lately that's all."
"I've been busy." I lie, and I know he doesn't believe a word of it.
"Okay." He looks ahead to the road again through the windshield. "So where to first?" And as Pat turns back to his mother pulls up outside the local mall, It's my perfect chance to keep him distracted (I also really love going to the mall.)
"Definitely clothes shopping first, then the spa and maybe stop for ice cream..." I trail off and Pat giggles as we both get out of the car, we thank his mother and head into the mall.
After trying to keep him interested for a while I quickly run out of ideas, I just need to make sure he doesn't bring up Virgil again. Walking past Hot Topic is really not helping my situation as Patton chuckles slightly, jabbing a thumb behind him.
"Too bad Virge isn't here huh Ro?" He says, I try to change the topic (pun not intended.)
"Uh Yh. Say Padre, what'd you say we settle down and get a coffee?"
"Oh no I'm okay."
"What about uhh...there?" I point in a random direction and Pat tilts his head in confusion.
"We just went there Roman, is everything okay?"
"Yeah of course. What about another ice cream?" I look around frantically and just as I'm about to find another diversion he stops me.
"Roman, is this about Virgil?" I sigh, and got the first time today it actually is.
"Yeah..."
"Do you wanna talk about on the walk back?" That's Dad language for 'tell me' and Patton is kinda like my dad, so I nod and he nods back. We continue the rest of our trip then start walking back with our many bags before it gets too dark.
We walk towards the setting sun, the walk is silent for a moment before Patton speaks up. "Something bothering you kiddo?" He reminds me, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
"Can this wait until we get back to mine Pat? It's kinda private."
"Of course."
"Patton please calm down!" I pace the length of my bedroom once more.
"Roman I'm not the one panicking." Says Pat unblinking from his spot on the edge of the bed.
"Ugh I know, I just...I shouldn't have said all that I mean I could get us in serious trouble Pat." I exclaimed, slumping in my desk chair.
"Well I promise not to tell anyone, okay?" I let out a deep sigh.
"Okay."
