“Hi…” he said, looking over as he settled on the bench next to me. I smiled.
“Hi.” I responded timidly.
“I’m Zander… you’re new aren’t you?”
“Yeah.” I said.
It was my first day of third grade at Eaton Elementary after moving from New York, and he was the first person to talk to me.
“Well… what’s you’re name?”
“Rory.”
“Well Rory, do you want some of my peanut butter and jelly?”
I knew I was blushing now, but nodded.
"Yea, do you want some chocolate chip cookies?"
The corner of his mouth pulled into the most adorable grin and that was it. That was the moment I became best friends with Zander Spencer.
