Luke's POV:
I unlocked the door and we walked in. The house seemed unusually quiet but Bo is sick so I'm not surprised.

Michaela's POV:
Daddy carried me up the steps to the front door. I was kinda nervous because daddy hasn't talked about mommy or the boys a lot lately so I hope they like me. I wish Matt was here but I can't keep him forever I guess. Daddy unlocked the door and put me down so I was holding his hand. The house seems surprisingly quiet. "Daddy why is it so quiet in here?" I asked. "I'm not sure baby." He answered.

Luke's POV:
"Daddy why is it so quiet in here?" Michaela asked. "I'm not sure baby." I answered. "Caroline?" I called out. I heard footsteps coming down stairs. I turned around and there was Caroline at the bottom of the stairs with Tate on her hip. She was wearing what I assumed was pajamas and her hair was in a bun. "Daddy!" Tate squealed. She put him down and he came running to me. "Hi buddy. I missed you." I gave him a little kiss and he wrapped his arms around my neck. I picked him up. "Guess what Taterbug, this your sister Michaela." I told him motioning to her as she hid partially by the doorway. "Come here sweetie." I told her. She walked over to me and stood kinda behind me. "Hi Tate." She waved to him and he waved back.

"Hi sissy! Let's go play!" I put Tate down on the floor and he grabbed michaela and dragged her upstairs. I smiled at the fact he was so accepting of her this quickly. Caroline was still standing in the same place as before and she wasn't smiling anymore. I knew this would happen. "I know you're mad but-" Before I could finish she walked back upstairs. She's really pissed at me. I quickly followed her and saw her walk into Bo's room. I followed suit and went to stand by the doorway. I peaked my head in and she was sitting on the bed running her hands softly through his hair as he slept. I walked in a little and spoke quietly not to wake him. "You have to talk to me sooner or later." I told her. "Talk about what? You had stuff to do and that's all there it to it." She replied trying to brush it off. I sighed. I had made Michaela a priority over Caroline and the boys and that isn't right. I walked in a little more and looked at Bo. "Does he have a fever?" I asked.

"It was 101 for a while but it was 99 or 100 last time I checked which was a little before you came home." She answered. "What else? Did he get sick a lot?" "First day or two he couldn't leave the bathroom." I sighed again. "I know you're pissed but baby what can I do to make it up to you? Anything." I told her. "Take care of Bo until he's better and Tate all by yourself. I'm still not sold on this whole daughter thing so I'd like to spend a little time with her myself." she explained quietly. Just then Bo started to stir. "Momma." He said. "I'm right here baby." She smiled. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and that's when he saw me. "Daddy!!" He put his arms out for me to pick him up. I helped him sit up and sat him on my lap facing me. "Daddy I missed you." He started to cry. That made me sad too. I hate seeing him cry. "I missed you too buddy. But guess what? I'm home for while now." His face lit up. "Promise?" He questioned.

"I promise buddy. What say me, you and Tate take a trip to Cabela's when you feel better. Would you like that?" I asked him. He nodded and smiled real big. "Oh there's one more thing. How would you like to have a sister?" I asked. "Really? When?" He asked. "Right now. Tate and Michaela can you come in Bo's room please?" I hollered. Tate ran in and Michaela wasn't far behind him. She walked slow like she was scared or something. "Come here sweetheart." I motioned to her. She walked over and sat on my lap next to Bo. "Boys this Michaela, she's you're sister now." I told them. "Hi sissy." Bo smiled. "Michaela this is Bo and you already met Taterbug." I told her. "Hi Bo." She replied to him. "Daddy can we watch a movie tonight?" Bo asked me. "Sure buddy whatever you want." I told him.

Michaela's POV:
So far everything has gone great. I met mommy and Tate when we walked in but I don't know if Caroline is okay with me calling her mommy yet. I'm really nervous to call her that so I guess I'm just gonna call her Caroline for now. I met Bo too but daddy said he's sick and not to get too close right now. I hope he feels better. Bo and daddy look a lot alike. "Hey sweetie you and your mom are gonna spend sometime together this afternoon while I hang out with the boys okay?" Daddy told me. "Umm okay." I replied. "What's wrong?" He asked. "I don't think she likes me very much." I said nervously. "Why would you think that?" "She didn't look happy when she came downstairs when we first came home." I told him. "Baby that's not your fault. She's mad at me. I did something bad." He explained. "I don't know if I wanna call her mommy yet." I looked down.

"It's okay baby. But will you still go out with her? She wants to get to know you a little better since you're gonna be our daughter." he half smiled. "Alright daddy I'll do it for you, I'm still nervous though." I replied. "It's okay princess. Go get dressed. You have the clothes we got you right?" He asked. "Yeah. Okay I'll go get dressed." I walked over to his travel bag and rummaged around until I found some clothes. I got some jeans out since its a little cold, a shirt grabbed my boots from the bottom of the stairs. "Daddy, which room should I change in?" I asked him. "Oh that's right, I didn't show you your room. Follow me." He motioned for me. I followed him up the stairs and we walked down the hall into another room. "It's not quite done yet but once we move into the main house and we paint it and get you some furniture it'll look better. There's a bathroom in here too. Change and then come downstairs. I gotta talk to your momma real quick." He told me and left.

Luke's POV:
I left the room so she could change. I walked in to Bo's room and Caroline was rubbing his back trying to get him back to sleep. When she saw me she carefully got up and walked over to me. I held my hand out and she took it. "Baby we need to talk." I told her as we walked down stairs. "Yeah you're right." She replied. I lead her to the living room and we sat down on the couch. I sighed. "Baby before you say anything I need to apologize. I'm sorry I didn't keep my promise to you and the boys about coming home earlier. You're right, I did get ahead of myself with adopting Michaela and I shouldn't have let all of that make me forget you and the boys because y'all mean the world to me. I hope you can forgive me." I looked down. I was honestly pissed at myself for acting like such a jerk.

"Luke look at me." She said. I looked up and our eyes met. She put her warm hands on my cheeks and said, "I'm not mad anymore, I don't think I ever really was. I guess I just missed you more than usual because you were gone longer." She explained. "I know, I was gone a little longer than normal. It won't happen again. I love you baby girl." I smiled. "I love you too." She smiled back. I kissed her forehead and wrapped my arms around her. "By the way, I think you kinda made Michaela nervous when we first got here and now she thinks you don't really like her. Why don't y'all go shopping or something? She needs a little more clothes." I told her.
