Luke's POV:
"Alright I'll talk to her. Is she ready to go?" She replied. "I think so....Michaela?" I yelled upstairs. "Yeah daddy?" She said. "Are you ready to go out?" I asked my little girl. "Yeah daddy but I need a coat. I left it at Ms. Johanna's." She explained. "How about we go get you a new one? What's your favorite color?" Caroline asked.
"Purple. But I like camo too." Michaela told her. I just laughed. "You really could be Luke's daughter." Caroline laughed. "How about we go to Dicks sporting goods and then sports authority. I'll get you a new purple North Face jacket and then we can get you a camo sweatshirt? Would you like that sweetie?" Caroline asked her. She looked at me and I nodded. "Alright." She smiled back. She came over and held her arms out in front of me. I knelt down and hugged my little girl real tight. "Be good okay baby?" I told her. She nodded. "Let's go sweetie. We're gonna take my new car." She smiled and Michaela took her hand.
Michaela's POV:
I took Caroline's hand and we walked to the car. I got in the back seat and she got in the drivers seat, soon enough we were off to go shopping. "So sweetie how old are you?" she asked. "I just turned 8 like a month ago." I told her. "That's great sweetie." She smiled at me. "Yeah, how old are Bo and Tate?" I asked. "Bo is 6 and Tate turned 4 back in August." "Oh okay." "Yeah, I love them more than anything but it'll be nice to have a girl around." She smiled again. "You mean that?" I asked. "Of course sweetheart. And I'm sorry I was kinda mean when y'all first got here. That was rude of me." She said. I wasn't sure how to reply. "Oh uhh it's okay." I answered. "Alright well we're almost there. Do you wanna get your coat first?" She asked. "Yeah sure." I nodded.
"Alright then we'll go to Sports authority first then we can go to dicks and get you some camo." She chuckled. "Sounds good to me." I nodded. She parked the car and we got out. I took her hand as we walked across the parking lot and walked into the store. She looked around before we walked to where all the coats were. I saw one that I liked right away that was purple and gray. I ran over to it and said, "What about this one?" She smiled. "Is that the one you want?" She asked. I nodded and smiled back. "Alright sweetie you got it. Is there anything you else you need or want to look at?" I looked around and saw Nike. "Umm could I um maybe get a pair of sweatpants you know for around the house or to sleep in?" I asked. She smiled. "Sure baby, I saw you looking at the Nike ones. Do you want a pair of those?" "Yeah." I told her.
After finding a pair of sweatpants we went to check out. While we were on line someone came up to Caroline and started talking to her. She didn't like it though. "Leave me alone." She told him. Finally after that he walked away. I was scared he was gonna hurt her. "I'm hungry." I told her. She laughed. "You sound just like the boys when I take them out with me. Well alright let's get you some food then. Where do you wanna go?" She asked. "I don't know...umm pizza?" "Sure sweetie. We'll eat now and then we can go get you a sweatshirt alright?" I agreed. We drove to the nearest pizza place and ate it there. After that we hopped in the car on our way to the last store were going to today. I grabbed her hand again and we walked around looking at some different things.
"See anything else you like?" She asked. I shook my head real quickly. "What's wrong honey?" She asked. "I don't want to get too much stuff because I'll feel bad." I explained. We walked to a quieter part of the store and she turned and knelt down in front of me. "Baby it's okay. You know how big daddy is. He makes enough money that he wanted me to spoil you a little bit today. Don't worry about that okay?"
Luke's POV:
After the girls left I went up to Tate's room and saw him playing with some toys. Normally he's never this quiet. "Hey Taterbug. Do you wanna watch a movie with me and Bobo?" I asked him. He smiled and nodded. I picked him up and we walked into Bo's room. I sat on the side of the bed and shook him lightly. "Bobo. Wake up buddy." I whispered. "What?" He groaned. I turned his little body so he's facing us. "Do you wanna watch a movie with me and Tate?" I asked him. "Okay daddy." He smiled. I picked him up and carried both of them downstairs. "Do y'all want some popcorn?" I asked them. "Yeah!" They both smiled big. I made some popcorn in the kitchen and put it into a big bowl for all of us.
After it was done I got some drinks to and carried it back into the living room. The boys were laying on the couch but Bo didn't seem himself. "Bobo what's wrong?" "I'm cold daddy." He told me. I got up and got a big blanket from our closet. When I got back we put in the Cars movie that they both love and cuddle with my boys. As the movie neared an end I noticed both of the boys were asleep. I decided that since the girls would probably be home soon I'll just stay right here. I turned the tv off and got comfortable before dozing off myself.
Michaela's POV:
Caroline and I are all shopped out. We got in the car and finally headed home. On the way home I got to thinking. She did all this for me today. Maybe I should ask if I can call her mom, I thought. "Sweetie what's wrong?" She asked pulling me out of my thoughts. I guess it's now or never. "Can I ask you something?" "Sure honey. What's up?" She asked. "W-would it be okay if I started calling you my mom?" I asked nervously. She smiled. "Oh sweetie, of course you can. I just wanted you to ask, I didn't wanna force you to." She smiled. "Well, I think I want to now." I smiled back. We left the strip mall and went home. When momma opened the door we saw daddy and the boys asleep on the couch. Guess they had a long day? Later we had dinner and after that I showered. Daddy tucked me in and I went to bed for the first time in my new house with the best family I could've asked for. I'm gonna ask daddy to call Matt tomorrow too. I kinda miss him.
