chapter nine

"Taehyung, darling. I think it's time you know the truth..."

"What do you mean, mum?" Taehyung asked, staring up curiously at his mother.

"Taehyung, love...there are many things your father has kept from you." Yuri started, looking down at her son.

"You see, Taehyung, i'm no ordinary being." His mother started, peaking Taehyung's interest.

"No ordinary being? Then what are you, mother?" Taehyung asked, his eyes burning with curiousity.

"The truth is, i wasn't from this dimension either." She continued.

"What? How's that even possible?" Taehyung chirped, face contorted with confusion.

Yuri laughed. "Now, now, Taehyung. You may think earth's the only inhabitable planet in this universe, but have you ever wondered if there were other creatures in other universes?"

Taehyung shook his head, looking up at his mother. "No, i've never thought of that before..."

"Well, dear, i came from one of those universes. You see, unlike your universe, there were other planets in our solar system that could inhabit life other than ours. But my kind was by far the most prosperous amongst the other planets." Yuri started.

"We had special powers that helped make our planet stable and strong, and our people lived a happy and carefree life."

Taehyung quirked an eyebrow. "How did you end up on earth then, mum?" He questioned.

Yuri sighed sadly, head hanging low. "Alas, the other neighbouring planets turned their backs on us as they were angry that we were living such a peaceful life. They destroyed my home planet and everything i ever loved along with it."

Tears brimmed in his mother's eyes as she remembered how she woke up to screaming and the sounds of pain, the noise drowning her senses.

That was the day she had experienced true fear.

Tears fell from her eyes as Taehyung hugged his mother tightly, giving her support as she continued. "I-i was the only one who managed to escape through a portal before it exploded. It led me here to earth."

Taehyung stayed silent, waiting for his mother to continue.

"That's when i met your father." Yuri smiled, happiness etched on her face as she remembered the happy memory. "He was such a young hearted and happy spirited vampire. He brought me in and tended to my wounds and needs."

Yuri sighed. "He was not how he is now. He was so gentle. So kind. Filled with hope and love for his kind. I think after i left...he started getting abusive and cold..."

Taehyung was silent, unable to process the newfound information.

"All this time, i thought earth was the only inhabitable planet. I didn't think that there'd be more." He whispered.

Yuri smiled, caressing her son's face. " I know it's going to be hard to process. But j want you to know, dear, that you are so much stronger than you know." Yuri said.
