chapter eleven

"I'll go. Take me there, Jungkook."

Taehyung snapped his head towards the voice, eyes widening in surprise as his mouth gaped open.

"Yoongi?"

Jungkook raised an eyebrow, staring at the mint-green male behind Taehyung. "Why do you want to go there? You of all people know how dangerous it is."

Yoongi just stood there, hands in his pockets as he shot Jungkook an icy glare.

"Why I want to go there is none of your business. I know you're partly the cause of why Jimin's like this. I heard everything." He said, voice laced with anger.

"And why do you care?" Jungkook retorted, earning another glare from the elder.

"Because he's more important to me than all of you know." He whispered before facing Jungkook again. "Now, stop asking ridiculous questions, Gguk. I don't want Jimin to stay like this a second longer."

Jungkook looked like he wanted to say something, but he kept his mouth shut.

Yoongi turned around, walking briskly down the hall before Taehyung called out.

"Wait! Where are you going?"

Yoongi stopped, before slowly turning around.

"I'm going to my room to pack my bags. It's going to take a while to reach the edge of the forest." He replied.

"I'm coming."

Jungkook snapped his head towards Taehyung, eyes widening at what the brunette had said.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" Jungkook asked, the brunette just looking up at him.

"Jimin's my best friend. I owe him my life." Taehyung replied.

"But it's dangerous!" Jungkook retorted, staring at the brunette.

"I'll be fine. Remember the last time i saved you from those werewolves? Besides, i have Yoongi." Taehyung said, turning towards the elder.

Jungkook narrowed his eyes, the thought of Yoongi and Taehyung alone together in the forest racing through his mind.

Yoongi, on the other hand, gave Taehyung a small smile. "C'mon, then. Jimin needs us."

Jungkook groaned, watching as Yoongi and Taehyung disappeared down the hallway.

His eyes were still fixated at the spot Taehyung had gone by, even though he was long gone.

Jungkook sighed.

"I guess the raid on the other pack has to wait..."

Taehyung sprints to the front of the pack house, where Yoongi had instructed him to meet him.

He pants as he pushes open the front door, almost tripping on his own feet.

Taehyung walks down the steps, before finally looking up, his eyes widening.

Beside an irritated Yoongi, was Jungkook. He was wearing a black hoodie, complete with a mask and a cap.

Taehyung looked him up and down, before turning his head towards Yoongi, an eyebrow raised.

"Don't ask me. Jungkook just decided to follow us." Yoongi shrugged. "Feeling guilty yet?"

Jungkook looked down at his feet before facing the elder.

"Yes, and i'm sorry. But the only other reason i'm following you all is because i can't let you go with Taehyung alone." Jungkook replied.

A grin made it's way to Yoongi's face.

"Aw, since when did you care, Jungkook?" He snickered.

Jungkook hit him in the arm, not replying to his question.

"Aren't you hot?" Taehyung suddenly asked, Jungkook and Yoongi surprised at the question.

"Excuse me, what?" Jungkook asked again, not believing what his ears had heard.

"I said aren't you hot? I mean, the sun's blazing and you're wearing a hoodie." Taehyung repeated, an eyebrow raised.

"Oh."

Yoongi snickered, earning a glare from Jungkook in return.

"No, i'm not hot." Jungkook replied before a cocky smirk made it's way to his lips. "I'm extremely hot."

Taehyung widened his eyes, finally realising what his words had sounded like. He covered his face with his hands as a slight blush crept towards his cheeks.

Jungkook chuckled, finding Taehyung's behaviour downright adorable.

You like him, don't you?

A voice in his head startled him, and he realised it was Yoongi.

Werewolves could speak to each other through mind links, and they could shut it down whenever they felt like it. Jungkook hadn't used his mind link in years, and has shut out anybody from speaking to him through his mind. But here Yoongi was, speaking to him easily.

How did you--

You let your guard down, so I could access your mind link. You like him. You have feelings for Taehyung, don't you?

You don't understand, hyung. It's not like that. Yes, I kinda like him. But...he's my mate, Yoongi.

Your mate? Siyeon's dead, Jungkook. If you think Taehyung's another version of her, that's not really nice to Taehyung--

No, it's not like that. And don't mention Siyeon here.

...you're still not over here, are you? Jungkook, you have to move on.

And i'm trying! It isn't easy, Yoongi. If you lose your mate, that's it. There's no one else. But here Taehyung is...

Jungkook...

The both of them were snapped out of their conversation when they heard Taehyung squeal, a happy grin on his face as he pointed to a fluffy bird perched on a branch.

Jungkook subcontiously smiled, seeing the happy grin on Taehyung's face.

"Shall we head off now?" Taehyung asked, looking at the other two.

Jungkook and Yoongi nodded their heads as Taehyung scrambled ahead of them, Jungkook closely behind.

Yoongi smiled knowingly, watching as Jungkook rushed up to catch up with Taehyung.

"Oh, Jungkook. I understand how you feel. More than you know." He whispered to himself.

For he, too, had his heart broken once.
